Lia's POV

As she held onto my hands, I noticed how strong and firm they were, but her hold on my hand was gentle.

"Let's not keep them waiting"

My face suddenly feels warm all of the sudden. As we walk back to the living room, I join Yeji and Yuna on the sofa.

"Ah! Good now that you're here, I wanted to know if you guys want to watch a movie." Asked Yuna. "I've brought plenty of movies to pick from, but I would gladly recommend the Secret Life of Pets."

"Ew no! I say we watch a thriller like Lights Out." Suggested Ryujin.

"No way! Those movies creep me out!"

"Aww come on! still scared of the dark?" Ryujin smirked at Yuna. As both of them we're trying to pick a movie, Yeji tapped me on the shoulder.

"Hey, is Chaeryeong not coming anymore?" She whispered to me.

"She texted me that she'd be coming in a few minutes. Something came up."

"Oh, ok that's good. If you want, I could pick her up."

"That's ok. She doesn't live that far from me. She's actually only a few houses down from here."

"Lee! I knew that last name was familiar!" Yuna interrupted us as she suddenly remembered. "Since she'll be here soon how bout we let her pick, while we do something else."

We all nodded in agreement.

'Hopefully, everything is going good with Chaeryeong.' I thought.

Chaeryeong's POV

I was ready to leave, but before I could head out, I was stopped at the door by my father's bodyguard.

"Sorry miss, but your parents request to speak with you. They're in your father's office."

Not again. Whatever it is this time it must not be good. First, I should let Lia know I'll be late.

The closer I get to his office the more nervous I become. With every step I take the heavier my feet feel. I then place my hand on the doorknob, taking a deep breath before I enter.

As I walk in, I see that my father is sitting at his desk with my mother at his side looking at papers. "Come in and take a seat, Chaeryeong." My father says without looking at me only to continue working.

I sit on that uncomfortable chair. I hate it. I don't know what's going on. I'm supposed to already be at Lia's house.

"How are you, Chaeryeong? It's been a while since we've been able to talk. How's school? Have you been studying extra time? Are your grades at the top?"

"I'm fine. I'm at the top of all my classes. My tests are all above average. Though I'm sure even if I lied, you already know."

"We do it to make sure you don't fall behind on your role." My mother says. "We've agreed to your terms for this year. Giving you the freedom to do and go wherever you want. To enjoy your senior year with your temporary friends. All we need is the corporation."

Oh. this again.

"So, before you leave, we need you to clear your schedule this Wednesday." My father proceeds to pass me a file. "He's the son of a friend of mine. Soon he will inherit his father's company. He's looking forward to meeting you."
