"Congratulations, Attorney!" I smiled after cutting the red ribbon in the entrance's door. I can't help giggling after holding it and seeing the people who helped me with this.

The priest went inside my newly-built law firm and started praying while splashing the holy water all over the place. I am just here, bowing my head and peacefully praying and thanking Him for the blessings I gradually receive.

"Bless Attorney Shanice Buenavista and everyone with more knowledge, power, righteousness and sense of justice as she works and seeks justice for the ones who deserve it. Unto the name of the Lord, Amen."

I opened my eyes and did a sign of the cross. I looked at my self's reflection in the glass door. I smiled upon seeing the changes that I attained over the past five years. I am wearing mustard yellow bell-bottomed slacks, white tube underneath my mustard yellow oversized coat, I also have my pair of white stilettos and dangling earrings. My hair was straightened and my nails were perfectly done for the occasion.

"Did you like it?" the guy asked, I looked at him and saw him wearing a black pair of suits. His hair was pushed back and looking so unreal.

"Hmm," I nodded while looking around.

"Oh, I forgot to greet you. Welcome back to the Philippines." I smiled and raised one of my eyebrows.

"Did you miss me, Aizren?" I asked, teasing him a bit. He just rolled his eyes,

"Go and tell everyone to eat." He commanded me which made me smile a bit.

"Hay naku, Sir Alcaraz. Ako na po ang bahalang magsabi sa kanila, ako na rin ang mag-aasikaso. I think you and Attorney Buenavista has to catch up---you know?" Belle, my classmate in college, and my lawyer friend said. Aizren just smiled, I rolled my eyes.

"You have to accept a case right away, Attorney Santos." Seryosong sabi ko, she just pouted her lips which made me chuckle after.

"Wait for me there, Attorney. I will get you something to eat." He pointed at the waiting bench near my office. I nodded my head and just went there without any words.

Napahawak ako sa leeg dahil sumasakit 'yon. I still have my jetlag and I am already sleepy. I think I have to adjust my body clock starting right now.

Five rough years have passed, years filled with misery and agony. It wasn't as smooth as how I wanted it to be. But I still managed to stand firmly and look at where I am now.

We decided to fly to Australia. Lahat kami pumayag doon kahit na naaapektuhan na ang trabaho ni Dad before. Just for the healing, the healing that we all need. I studied in a prestigious law school there. It's easy to associate, but the studies aren't easy. Sobrang hirap that I almost gave up in the midst of trying my best but failing. I thought when you are a lawyer, you will just read and speak, read and speak, read and speak. But it wasn't. Studying, memorization, understanding, comprehension, association, concentration and passion were also needed in order to survive. At that time, I had thought that surviving was the best thing I could do there.

Mabuti na lang, I have them. I have my family, I have my friends, I have Aizren who never leaves me alone. They stayed, they cheered me up and I was so inspired to do well in law school.

Thankfully I survived, I graduated and passed the boards.

After that, I worked in a law firm in Australia which didn't turn out well for me so I worked for another year in another law firm which became my big break. I won the case of the victims of serial murder and rape there. That served as a big break and that made my name catchy in people's perception.
