"Shanel signed it?" Tita Xyle asked, looking at the paper on the table. Her eyes sparkled in joy and surprise.
"Yes po," I answered.
"How did you convince her? I mean... I didn't expect that this would be that easy!" she exclaimed,
"Kaya nga po, I was surprised din po. I even talked to Aizren beforehand just in case Mom didn't sign it with my words, he will try to convince Mom too." I said and reclined my back.
"She loves my brother too much," I smiled with the thought of that. Dapat ay nagagalit ako 'di ba? Dapat nagagalit ako dahil mahal din ni Mom si Matthew kahit na si Dad ang asawa niya. But I knew how much Matthew sacrificed for Mom, which made her feelings valid.
"So, shall we start with the talks about the case?" I asked,
"Wait lang, Attorney. Can we wait for Lauren? Nasa kotse pa ata siya, I bought you something." Nanlaki ang mga mata ko. Andito si Lauren? Oh, ghad! I haven't prepared for this.
As if on cue, Lauren came in with paper bags on her hands. She's smiling widely.
"Sorry for the inconvenience I caused, tumawag pa kasi si Donny." She said, natawa naman ako dahil doon at umiling. Si Tita Xyle naman ay napailing din.
"Ayoko sa boyfriend mo, Georgianna. Masyadong maraming tattoo!" Tita Xyle exclaimed, napasimangot naman si Lauren. "Tapos daming hikaw, buti hindi nahahaklit ang tenga noon!"
"Mama, napaka-mapanglait mo!" Lauren exclaimed,
"Oo talaga, hindi ko talaga gusto 'yan. Gusto ko para sa 'yo ay 'yong good boy na seryoso, malinis tingnan, at dentist----"
"Mama!"
"Hoy, panget!" my eyes widened. Bumukas ang pinto at nakita ko ang ulo ni Shaun na nakasilip doon.
Pero agad din na nanlaki ang mga mata niya nang makita ang mga tao rito. Napaatras din siya.
"Oh, 'yan ang tinutukoy ko!" Tita Xyle chuckled, "Good morning, hijo." Tita Xyle smiled and even waved to my brother who became stoic after seeing them. Ngumisi naman ako.
"Shaun! Pasok ka!" I called him, he immediately threw a glare on me. Pero ngumisi lang ako, sa kabilang banda naman ay si Lauren napansin kong sumiksik sa sulok at may ka-text ata.
"Good morning, Mam---Tita." Shaun greeted Tita Xyle with a small smile. Pumasok siya, suot ang pants at polo, samantalang ang puting coat naman ay nakasabit sa balikat. Pero halos mapasinghap kami ni Tita Xyle nang makitang hindi mag-isa si Shaun.
"Hi, Attorney!"
"Yasminne!" I exclaimed, tumayo ako at binati siya. "Upo muna kayo roon,"
"Actually, no need." Shaun said with a creased forehead.
"Oo nga, ihahatid pa ako ni Shaun sa Villamonte Academy. I'll try my luck there." Nangingiting sabi ni Yasminne, "Si Shaun naman ay papunta na sa clinic. 'Tsaka may mga client ka pa pala. I am sorry po sa abala." Mahinhin niyang nginitian sina Tita Xyle na seryosong nakatingin sa kanya. Pero ngumiti pa rin naman si Lauren sa kanya.
"W-We're just here to hand you this." Shaun said, giving me a paper bag. "I should've just let Mom give you this na lang pala." His gaze landed on Lauren who's seriously looking at him. I saw how his eyes rolled before turning his back. Agad namang kumapit si Yasminne sa braso ni Shaun.
"I am sorry po," agad na sabi ko nang makaalis ang dalawa.
"Okay lang, 'no ka ba?" Tita Xyle said, "Jackpot na, naging jinx pa!" she looked at Lauren na agad siyang sinaway.
