Confrontation

Umuwi ako ng bahay at nag patulong kay mommy sa pagluto. I don't know how to cook so let mom do it.

I'm inside my studio. My forehead frown at the smell of paint. Tinabonan ko ang aking ilong at agad sinirado ang studio.

"Manang!" I called our kasambahay.

She immediately appeared infront of me.

"Can you please clean my studio? It stinks po kasi."

She was shocked. I never let anyone in my studio. Ako lang talaga ang naglilinis niyan buong buhay ko but today is an exception. I can't stand the smell of paint.

Nagtungo ako sa living room at nag basa. Hindi ko namalayang nakatulog pala ako. Mom woke me up around twelve.

I dress nicely and conservatively. I wore a pink beige button-down dress. I let my wavy hair down I put on a small amount of makeup. I look at myself in the mirror one more time and turn sideways. I touch my belly. It has grown big.

My forehead creased.

Did I jump my diet?

My heart starts to pound nervously. I reach for my phone and search for the symptoms of pregnancy. I almost fainted when I read the symptoms.

I experience all of those symptoms.

Am I pregnant?

Nagmamadali akong bumaba pero mayroong pag iingat. I drove slowly to his company.

The receptionist greets me and some other employees.

I went to the elevator and press his button. When the elevator open I walk faster.

I was nervous and excited to tell him the news. Hindi pa man sigurado pero sa loob ko Alam kong mayroon nang laman ang aking tyan.

I smiled at his secretary. Tamayo siya.

"Ma'am..."

Binalewala ko siya at pumasok sa office ni Thorn. I was stunned at what I witnessed. Samantha was there. Thorn turned his back on her but she catches up and 0 him from the back.

Pareho silang tumingin sa aking gawi. Thorn irritated eyes turned into worry and soft, when he saw me. Agad niyang kinalas ang kamay ni, Samantha, at lumapit sa akin.

Pinakawalan ko ang pinto sumara ito ng kusa. Thorn held my arms and made me look at him.

"It was nothing..." his voice sounded so worried.

Lumapit ako kay Samantha na nakatingin lang kay, Thorn. She was surprised. She turned his head to me slowly the shocked reaction on her face...when I slap her real hard.

Pumagitna si Thorn at nilagay ang braso sa akin upang protektahan ako.

"Hindi mo talaga alam ang salitang respeto. At dikit ka ng dikit kay Thorn?!" I said fuming mad.

She eyed me with those teary eyes.

"Hindi ba ikaw rin naman. You stole him from me years ago!" Balik niya.

"Let me remind you... I. Didn't steal him from you. You broke up with him when I appeared in the picture!"

"Magkakabalikan pa sana kami kung hindi mo siya nilandi. "

"You shouldn't have let him go in the first place para hindi siya ma agaw ng iba!"

Thorn keeps on whispering in my ear. Sweat words to calm me down.

"I've put up with you, for days, I know something was off but did you hear me complain? Did you saw me make a scene? I didn't, kasi alam ko kung paano mag mahal ng taong may mahal nang iba... But I'm not like you. I stayed away from Thorn when he was in a relationship with you... I gave you time to stop and respect our relationship but you didn't..."

Napakapit ako sa braso ni Thorn ng maramdaman ang pagkahilo. He noticed it and wrap his arms around my body.

"Get out, Samantha..." He said with a hard tone.

"Thorn..." she pleaded.

Thorn ignore her.

"Are you alright?" He whispered to me.

I nodded. Hinarap ko ulit si, Samantha.

"Kung may delikadesa ka pang natitira layuan mo si Thorn!"

Kumapit ako kay Thorn ng lumala ang pag itim ng aking paningin. I didn't know what happened next I pass out.

I woke up lying on his sofa. He sat just beside me. He caresses the hair on my face and he tucked it behind my ear.

"How are you feeling?"

Umopo ako. "I'm fine... It's normal to faint, I think..."

Huminga siya ng malalim.

"Did she leave?" I aks.

Tumango siya. "I tried to shoo her away a thousand times, Dalhia. Believe me..."

Hinawakan ko ang kamay niya. "I know. I have eyes and ears here in your company..."

Gulat niya akong nilingon.

I smiled a little and look away because of embarrassment. He chuckled and pulled me closer to him.

Then I remember my baby. I touch my belly naramadaman ko ang pag sunod ng tingin ni Thorn doon.

Nag angat ako ng tingin at tinitigan siya.

"Thorn..."

"Hmm?" He hummed and waited for my words. Kalaunan umiling ako. I want to tell him that I'm pregnant when I'm sure.

"Dalhia?"

Umiling ako.

"Wala... I bought you food. Nag lunch ka na ba?"

Umiling siya. I was about to stand when he stopped me. Siya na mismo ang kumuha ng lunch box na dala ko.

"Did you cook this?" He asks.

Ngumuso ako habang umiiling.

"I requested it, though..."

His amuses eyes landed on mine, a smile from on his lips. He kisses my forehead before he eats the food.

I texted Jainie to accompany me to the hospital. Mag papa check up ako.

Nag kita kami sa tambayan. We stayed there for an hour talking about my pregnancy. It was two in the afternoon when we decided to go to the hospital.

Kinakahaban ako habang kinuhanan ng dugo. The doctor also gave me three pregnancy kit.

Pikit mata kong hinintay ang result. Tinignan ko ang relo at lumipas na ang limang minuto. I almost fainted when I saw two lines.

Fuck!

I'm pregnant. I'm fucking pregnant!
