  I wake up and Moonlight has already woke and is probably eating. I walk out of the cave I slept in the night before and walk over to Moonlight. She is eating a leftover squirrel.

  “Hey” I say walking up to her. she looks up.

  “Good morning sleepy head got you breakfast” she says picking up half of a rabbit and giving it to me.”So, ya sleep well?”

  “Sort of, I had a difficult time falling asleep but after I did I slept well, how about you” I ask.

  “lets say I slept like a dog” she says amusingly. We both laugh.” I'm looking forward to training, we get to go to the pond”she says.

 “ Isnt there a shack near there” I ask.

  “ya, but one of the humans has not been there for a long time” She answers.

  “okay” I say then I eat my rabbit and I hear my name.

  “Lightheart” Stripetail calls” Time to go” I run to my mentor and we walk into the forest.”So Lightheart are you eager to learn” he says enthusiastically” We will cover the river border today and the out skirt border tomorrow”

  “great” I say.

  

“ You're a wolf of few words aren't you” He asks. I wanted to tell him that I would talk if I want to.

  “ I guess so, and yes I would like to learn” I say. We walk down a human path and reach the river.

  “This is where you could try and catch fish but I wouldn't recommend it, I tried once and I fell in got meself out and everyone laughed at me. The funny thing is, I started to laugh with them. My mentor wasn't happy though”

  “Who was your mentor”I ask.

  “believe it or not Darkscar” he says. This means that I'm pretty much being trained by Darkscar.

  “Cool” I say. He pushes me to the side.

  “You need to stay quiet we are near Darktribe Territory”

he says in a whisper. That explains the foul odor. The river has kept Darktribe in its territory for years. Last snowfall though it almost froze over. The only tribe that knows how to swim is Startribe which was once known as Watertribe till there new leader Stormshadow came to power.

  As we walk down the path we hear a stick snap. It was loud and it made my jump.

  “That was too big for a rabbit” says Stripetail. I hear a grunt from the bushes.”hide!” Stripetail says. I crouch behind a nearby stump. A black a black wolf comes out from the bushes.

  “Where do your apprentice run af to, was he afraid of a little ol wolf” The wolf snarls.

  “ No he ran from stench” stripetail throughs back. both wolves show their teeth and snarl.

  “I'm sorry for sneaking up on you, now lets see the apprentice” The wolf says. Why does she want to see me so bad?

  “There is no need for him to show himself. What is your name”He asks.

  “I'm Lonewolf I belong to knowone. And you are?” She asks her sent just wiffed up my nose.

  “Stripetail a warrior of Moontribe”He replies.

  “Stripetail I'm going to be honest with you, you stole my pup so hand him over and everything will be fine, got it.” She says. She is not my mother, my mother died during labor, thats at least what my tribe told me.

  “Never” Stripetail says and then leaped onto her then grabs her by the scruff.

  “Ouch” she yelps out and she turns and grabs hold of Stripetail digging her claws into his side. You can see the pain rushing through his eyes. I want to help but I would die out there. Stripetail lets go and falls, She steps aside then grabs him by the neck. A howl comes from Stripetail then all goes silent.

  “ Well then, guess my combat skills are improving, now to find the little rat” She is talking about me. I can't leave Stripetail alone, I have to get help. I run into the near by brambles, then run back to camp.

  “ Darkscar, Darkscar” I yelp “I need help”. Darkscar came running over.” Me and Stripetain were patrolling the river and a big black wolf that calls herself Lonewolf badly injured Stripetail and thinks she is my mother and is coming after me!” I shout. By the time I'm finished, most of the tribe is standing there.

  Three warriors go running to Stripetail, they could probably sent him.

  “ Come with me.” Darkscar says. I follow him to the cave I slept in and I sit down.” Is there any reason for her believing you are her son”  He asks. I sit there for a moment and think. What if I am her son and everything was a lie?

  “I don't know, I don't know, I-I-I”

  “Lightheart its okay settle down and get some rest” Darkscar says cheerfully. I lay my head down and get some rest”.
