prologue

A sweet melody was drifting through the busy atmosphere.a collection of violinist,harp players and the pianist were playing at the far end of the hall.

Everyone dress in expensive suit and dresses which would probably be discarded after the night pass.

People were gathered throughout the world to watch the amazing competition between the top student who made it to the final of mathematics olympiads at shinhwa college the most popular and richest school in Korea.

jeon jungkook and Kim taehyung the two participants who have catch the attention of the people and the only  reason they were gathering at the  event is to know the winner between the two male but majority of them came to watch the infamous handsome prince of Seoul Kim taehyung.

jungkook watch the crowd cheering frantically at them,he couldn't help to get nervous since it's the first time he was participating in this kind of competition and to think he made it to the final of one of the most grand competition in the world is something he never expected.

his opponent is Kim taehyung the top student in the whole country and he had won the award three times in a roll and to think he was competing against the monster terrified him.

Jungkook stare at taehyung sitting across him and found the male smirking down at him.

The two maintain intense eyes contact that's make the prince lift his brow.

Doesn't he know who he is?.

What an audacity.

Kim Taehyung smirked broadly to think the boy dared to challenge made his inside bubbling with excitement and he can't wait to show the male how terrified it is to challenge someone so above him.

he's sure he's going be the winner of this year just like how he had always won every year.

"Hey who do you think will win this year competition"they heard one boy whispered to his friends.

"Of course it's taehyung it's obvious"his friend whispers back following with an eyes roll.

"he have been winning this for three years straight"the boy nod agreeing with him and taehyung smirk while jungkook frown feeling all the confidence flying away from his body.

he participated in the competition because they promise the winner a scholarship and job offer at any company he or she desire after finishing his or her education and since he had almost used his previous scholarship.he thought it wouldn't hurt to try.

Taehyung scanned the crowd and heave down a sigh when he saw his parents are nowhere to be found again.

"Guess they're out again"he stated a little bitterly and huffed in annoyance when they were taking too long to announce the winner and it frustrating  him to be sitting in one position for a long time expecially with someone likes jeon jungkook his opponent.

Taehyung scrunched his nose in disgust as he scanned the male from head to toe starting from his cheap clothes to his worn out shoes.

Jungkook noticed this and sent him a death glare at his judging eyes making taehyung snort loudly at him.

Yes he was the typically poor kid who can never befitted in the society but every time people remind him that,it still hurt no matter how much he tried to ignore it.

But there's no way he would let them trampled on him

The door finally opened revealing the man they all have been waiting for carrying one big white envelope in which people guessed must contain the name of the winner.

Cameras everywhere flicking on the man as he walked gracefully into the big alter with a smile.

Jungkook gulp nervously when the man shared his greetings through the microphone and slowly opened the envelope while taehyung rolled his eyes his head raise high like a peacock and a smirk tugging on his lips as he wait for his name to be called.

The man slowly clear his throat and look at the crowd before him.

"The winner of 2021 mathematics olympiads goes to-----"

he said and look at the crowd who have grow a little quiet gulping slightly while some stare boredly at him.

The winner is obvious.

"Jeon jungkook"

and taehyung froze,his eyes widened in surprise as he watched the male jumped up in excited with a loud cheers erupted among the crowd, cheering frantically and clapping along to create an echoing series of applause.

Some were happy,some disappointed but many were angry.

Taehyung slowly balled his hands into a fist and a deep scowl on his lips,he never felt this humiliation in his entire life especially to a nobody like jeon jungkook.

He will never accept the defeat.
