"So, how are you and Pope going?" Aria asked Kie as JJ and Pope were in the kitchen while Sarah and John B were out by the hammocks.
"I don't know, I know you know what happened that night," Kie replied.
"Sure," Aria nodded.
"I don't know, it just felt different," Kie shrugged.
"Different?"
"Yeah, like, it should have been perfect, like all those stupid romantic movies we used to watch but there was something that just didn't work between,"
"Is this just because you didn't envision your first time like that?" Aria wondered.
Kie scoffed. "It wasn't my... first time,"
"Hey, I'm not calling you virgin Mary out there," Aria mumbled about Pope. "I know you have had hook-ups but was this your first, y'know?"
"Yeah," Kie whispered.
"Oh, pfft, first times are bad for everyone, but if it really didn't feel right you have to tell Pope, I love you Kie, but you are stringing him along, now if this was any other guy, whatever who cares, but Pope is our friend too," Aria advised.
"I know!" Kie groaned. "That's what makes this so hard,"
"Pope is very new, new at everything, like a newborn baby with a gigantic brain, he knows what to do but not how to do it,"
"Yeah, I know that too," Kie laughed at Aria.
"You have seen how he used to flirt with girls, he talks about corpses," Aria muttered. "The way I see it is you either give him a chance and potentially find some love or if you really don't think it works just try and stay as friends, saving this group from more heartbreak,"
"I know, I just don't know which one is better, I would love to be in a relationship with Pope like you were with JJ, but I also love how our friendship is and I don't want to lose that, like you and JJ,"
"Wow, thanks," Aria mumbled sarcastically.
"I'm sorry," Kie sighed.
"Aria! Come shotgun!" JJ roared through the house.
"Right, I have been summoned, just think about it, but don't take too long," Aria tapped Kie's leg as she followed JJ's voice to the living room leaving Kie in the guest room.
"I'm here, I'm here," Aria told as she took the unopened beer from JJ who was holding it out for her.
"John B," JJ said as he saw the boy walking up the porch. "You wanna shotgun one in the name of freedom?" JJ handed him a beer too but John B just walked straight past him and inside.
"Sarah, you wanna-" JJ asked.
"No!" She cut him off. JJ shrugged as he began to shotgun his.
"Cheater," Aria mumbled before doing the same.
JJ pulled out his weed joint and lit it up using his lighter. "Want?" JJ asked her as he held out the weed to her.
"Hell, yeah," Aria mumbled as she took a hit.
"Why do we always end up together?" JJ questioned as he looked around.
"Oh, is my company not good enough for you now, do you want to be alone alone?" Aria scoffed fake hurt.
"No, I love your company, it's just where is everyone else?" JJ re-worded.
"Dealing with relationship issues," Aria shrugged as passed JJ the joint back. "How are we the exes and yet the only ones that seem to get along fine?"
