"Everyday it's something with these people."
-The bell rung and I quickly ran through the door to the computer lab. I was so out of breath that I had to take a second to mentally and physically recover.
I looked at where my assigned seat was, which is next to Sarah, and saw someone sitting there next to her. It looked like they were trying to comfort her?
I was little concerned, but it would've been awkward asking if she was okay and we're currently not friends. Also, I didn't mind that my seat was taken because at least I didn't have to deal with the tension from her right now.
"JOHN ROUTLEDGE PLEASE TAKE A SEAT SO WE CAN START PRESENTATIONS!" the teacher yelled and I realized I had been standing by the door for a good minute.
"I'm so sorry- wait presentations?!"
I'm sorry but when did we get assigned a presentation?! I knew my teacher was crazy but I didn't know it was gonna come to this.
"Yes! Our presentation on the interesting but very boring phenomenon that is our use of the inter web! Now please sit IMMEDIATELY unless you want to begin!"
At that threat, I quickly found a seat at the back, hoping she wouldn't pick on me soon as I have no presentation to present.
I don't even know how to begin this presentation. What do I look up?! I just genuinely don't care about this topic.
While I was busy in my thoughts, trying to put together a last minute presentation, I jumped when I felt my phone buzz in my pocket.
I took it out to see a text from bff in the bathroom!
bff in the bathroom; john b! i'm right in front of you!
me; what?!
I looked up and Grace was in fact right in front of me.
me; omg?! i didn't know you were in this class.
bff in the bathroom; yeah i keep a low profile in here. don't nobody need to know i'm in computers!
bff in the bathroom; hey, there's an empty seat next to me. you should come sit with me!
me; i would but i REALLY need to work on this stupid presentation.
bff in the bathroom; i could help you if you want.
me; if you want to, then sure!
I gathered my things quietly, not trying to cause a distraction, and made my way to the seat next to Grace.
"Hey!" she whispered while I sat down.
"Hey. Um do you understand what the fuck this project is supposed to be on?!"
"Something about the internet?"
I laughed at her obvious answer and opened my laptop to get to the slide. It was currently blank and had nothing on it.
"Hey, I know you're making your slide and everything and I don't wanna bother you with this but, something else happened with Sarah at cheer practice this morning."
