Derek's POV
I sigh. Life in this stupid neighborhood has been so boring lately. My boyfriend left me. What's even left in this town? But there's no where else to go. I walk over to my cluttered book case. I've read every single one of these books at least 5 times.
I'm still figuring out what book to read for the 6th time, and then I hear a huge truck. There are barely any cars that come down on this road, so why would a huge truck? The curiosity got the best of me, and I walked over to my front window to get a look at what was going on.

I was surprised at what I saw. A moving truck! That house across the street has been empty even before I got here. Then, a blue jeep parks in the driveway. A boy gets out of the front seat. Then he turns around. He has perfect chocolate brown eyes, hair that I just want to run my fingers through, and he was toned. Not buff, but toned. I liked that. He had perfect moles that were scattered all over his cheeks. I stared for what seemed like forever.

I looked at him for another minute or so, and then the worse happened. Our eyes connected. I quickly ducked down. Now he probably thinks I'm a creepy stalker. Crap. Way to go, Derek. I face palmed myself.
I decided that I should probably bake something for an excuse to go and talk to him. So, I got started on baking some brownies. I added the mix and followed all of the steps to make the batter. Then, I stuck it in the oven.
Once I waited long enough, I took them out. They looked good enough. By the tme that they cooled and I got myself ready, by putting on a nice shirt and putting gel in my hair, it was 5. Perfect.

I took a deep breath and opened the front door. I walked across the street and up the stairs onto his porch. Time to meet this god. I knocked on the door and quickly regretted it. How do I even act? What do I say, yeah I bought you some brownies, let's make out? What if he's not even gay?

I heard his footsteps. The doorknob jiggled then opened.

"Hi" he said with a kind smile.

"Hey, I saw you moved in. I baked you some brownies for a welcoming gift kinda thing." Kinda thing? That was so awkward. I hope he likes awkward people. Probably not. Oh crap what am I even doing?

"Wow, thanks so much, these look great!" He said excitedly with a heart melting smile.

"Oh, I'm so rude. Would you like to come inside?" He said.

"Sure." I said as cooly as possible. I mean HE INVITED ME INSIDE. Inside I am jumping for joy.

He moves out of the doorway, walking into his kitchen with the brownies, expecting me to follow. I shut the front door behind me and follow him down the hall. He sets the brownies on the table and turns to me.

"I'm Stiles." He states with a wink. Does he feel the same way? Probably not. Maybe I'm buff and everything but I'm pale and just.. Not like him.
"Stiles?" I asked, confused.

"Nickname." He replied, slightly amused. He probably gets that a lot.

"Derek." I said.

He ushers me into the living room. I take a seat on the nearest couch. Stiles plops next to me.

"So, I have to ask you something." He says.

I started to get curious. Was he gonna ask about my sexuality? If I'm attracted to him? I hope one of these questions pops up.

"Sure, go ahead." I tried to sound as calm and collected as possible Who knows if I did sounded calm. I probably sounded like a 14 year old boy going through puberty.

"So, today when I was moving my boxes into my house, I looked at my neighbors houses, you know? Just looking around. But, I saw you staring at me by your window. May I ask why you were staring at me like that? Nothing personal, I think you're a great neighbor, I am just curious."

Oh.My.God. Of course. With my luck, this happens. Why hadn't I known he was going to ask this question? I finally mustered up the courage to reply.

"I, I just saw who was moving in. I thought you were attractive..." I confess nervously.

He smirks and starts to slide closer to me.

"You THOUGHT I was attractive?" He says cockily.

"I still do... I just don't know if you like guys or-"

He cut me off with a kiss. It was awkward and sloppy, but once our lips went in sync it got more passionate. Once we pulled away, I smiled for the first time in a long time.

"Thank god for neighbors, am I right?" He said with a smirk.
