Freya chanted lowly, hands over a bowl of concoction held by Elijah. Eleanor kneeled on the floor nearby, drawing a circle of salt around her. She then drew ten smaller, filled circles inside the enclosed space.
"When you asked for my help, this is not what I'd expected," Elena sighed, holding out the necklace to the older Salvatore.
"I know," he replied empathetically.
She turned towards the spirit witch. "This is one of the last things I have of her, so I ask you again, are you certain this is going to work?"
"I am," Eleanor replied confidently, standing up. "I wouldn't have gone to London just to get a piece of jewelry if I wasn't,"
"I trust her, Elena," Damon told the girl.
Giving in, Elena handed her the necklace with a nod. "I do too... It's just that... if it doesn't work, none of us speaks a word of it ever again. I don't want to give Jeremy any false hope,"
"You and me both," Damon took her hand in assurance.
Vincent Griffith rushed into the room. "Got the ring from Josh," he placed it next to the other belongings on the table. "Now this better work or I reopened old wounds for nothing,"
"It will," Eleanor answered.
She carefully dipped the ring into the concoction with a pair of tongs, followed by the other items. One by one, she placed them on each circle before splaying her hands over the area. Golden flames arose, low but bright, illuminating the dim-lit room.
"How are you this sure?" Freya queried, arms crossed. "I lived with Dahlia for centuries and even I haven't heard of a way to bring back the dead, especially a human,"
"You haven't because there is no way to bring back the dead, at least not permanently," the spirit witch replied. "Now this spell is going to take hours, days maybe but once it's done, each of the resurrected will have a limited amount of time before fade away again,"
Her words were received with confused looks and a smiling Elijah decided to join in. "There's a lot you all don't know about spirit magic yet,"
"And you do?" Elena countered.
"I'd like to think so, yes," he shared a knowing look with Eleanor before glancing at the witches. "Shall we begin?"
"But before you do," the gilbert interfered. "Which genius even thought of all this?"
