Chapter I
I wake up in my comfy bed. My room is covered with butterflies and stars. Pastel colors fly across the walls making a dance in the air.
I pull my sleep mask off my head, while breathing in the scent of sweet pea air freshener that floods my nose.
I cough once then head to my dresser.
I choose a striped white blouse with a little sun patch on it, and denim shorts then head out of my room without even checking my messy hair.
I plop down on the couch in the living room. The eggshell white paint on the walls is pleasing to the eye.
"Summer." I say while letting out a big sigh.
Today is the first day of summer break.
My phone rings and I know exactly who it is.
"Hey Mollie." I say in a tired voice.
"Vivian! Vivian! Viv-"
"Molly. I am here."
"Okay good! I have some news."
"What is it?"
"Tristen.."
Oh no, I hate Tristen, wait no. I despise Tristen. He's the most annoying boy in my school. You know that one popular blonde haired boy. That's him. His brown eyes disgust me every time he tries to pull a trick on me. He is what you'd call a popular kid. Blonde curly hair and dark brown eyes. Perfect skin. I don't know how he does it, but all of the girls fall for him.
Last week he came over to my lunch table and tipped over my bag spilling out my personal belongingsbelongings.
"What are you doing?-"
"Oh just making you mad." He whispers to me.
"Tristen! My lunch spilled because of you."
"What was that for?-." I say sharply as I pick up my stuffstaring stuff
I was so mad, no, angry. I was so close to strangling his pretty throat right then and there, but Mollie mouthed to me, he's not worth it.
"Come on Mollie," I say walking away from the situation, "We have better to do."
"Viv, you there?" Mollie says and I come back from my memory.
"Yeah, sorry."
"Anywho, I heard Tristen is moving to our neighborhood this summer," Mollie says with dismay.
"Great another thing I can look forward to this summer." I mumble sarcasticly.
"Yeah."
"Hey ask your mom if you can spend the night at my house tonight."
"Ok. My mom will probably say yes."
"I'll call you later. Bye."
"Bye." Molly says
I hang up. Tristen in our neighborhood. That will take a lot of getting used to.
•••My phone rings. I instantly think is probably Mollie saying that the sleepover is on, but I look at the name. The number was unknown, so I thought a scammer, I decline the call. A moment later I got another call, it was Mollie.
"Got the news?" I ask.
"Yep! Packing my bag right now," says Mollie, "Want to watch a movie?"
"Obviously, I heard The Shining is good," I say, "It's an old movie."
"I also heard it's scary, why don't we watch the Hunger Games again." Mollie suggests.Mollie is a huge Hunger Games fan. She even started a Filmo channel to show how much she likes it. It's another old movie and I never really got it, but it does have gore, so I agreed.
"Great! See you later," Mollie says in a cheerful tone, hanging up the phone."
•••
"I'm home! Missed me?" Says Mollie as she opens the door. Our family trusts Mollie so much that they have her the key to the house. The weird thing is that I don't even have a key.
"I just saw you yesterday silly," I say imerging from the stairs, wearing a pink boa around my neck that I got from a Halloween party.
"So what are we going to do first?" Asks Molly, but she already knew what I was going to say.
"Dress up!" I say excitingly.
I know this sounds childish, but it's actually really fun. We pretend to be random people and we make jokes. It's our tradition you may say.
We head upstairs to my moms closest and we walk in. My mother has a huge room with an even bigger closet, or as it seemed.
