Growing Frustration

Ashley's POV

Walking into Allegiant Stadium for tonight's Raw, I knew I was going to be in for an interesting evening as the night before, I'd gotten news that I would be winning the DIvas title tonight from Nikki. And while that thought did make me happy, it also angered me somewhat, because to me, the Divas title just felt disrespectful, as did the derm 'Diva'. 

Getting to my shared locker room, I walked in to see Pamela, Mercedes and Rebecca all sitting together, talking about tonights show.

"Oh, hey Ash," Mercedes said, looking up and spotting me. "We heard the news, and let me just say, it's well deserved."

I smiled. "Thanks guys. Hopefully, I can make some real change around here."

They all nodded in agreement, as they too were sick of the lack of respect for the women's division currently.

After sitting around for a while longer, I got the call to head to gorilla for my match. On my way there, I noticed Toby Curtis, one of WWE's soft-spoken giants, at a whopping 6'10, pacing in front of Vince's office.

"Uh, hey Toby, you all good?" I asked him.

He looked down at me, and smiled a little.
"Yeah, I'm fine, Ash," he replied quietly. "Hey, I heard about your match later. Congrats."

I grinned. "Thanks so much. My main goal is to make some significant change when I'm champ. For me and all the girls."

He nodded. "Now that sounds like something I can get behind."

"Well, I've gotta go now, have a good night, alright?" I told him, and he nodded.

"Good luck, champ. I'll be watching," he replied, and gave me a quick hug. I smiled and jogged to gorilla, and met up with Nikki before our match. I walked in to the usual sight of Vince monitoring everything that was happening, and crew running around, organising everything.

I saw Nikki sitting on some crates and walked over to her and gave her a hug.

"Hey champ, good to see you," I said.

"Well, won't be champ for much longer, now will I?" she replied, and I laughed.

"Yeah, only wish this match could be longer," I said, while glancing at Vince, and Nikki nodded in agreement.

"I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for Vince giving me my chance, and a contract," I added. "But sometimes, I just wanna know what goes through his head while planning the girl's matches."

She shrugged. "Who knows?"

Nikki then got the call to ready up for her entrance, so she smiled at me and said, "See ya out there."

She gave me a quick hug before grabbing her title and walking out with it raised over her head.

Mercedes POV

Watching Nikki's entrance, I had a bad feeling this match wasn't gonna last very long. This had been the case for quite some time now, and about every woman in the locker room was downright miserable.
