I thought I'd try out a 5+1 thing. I've had this idea floating around in my head and decided to try writing it, so here you go. This is very self-indulgent, like, very, very self-indulgent. I just want my boys going through that sweet sweet angst, alright? The angst isn't even that angsty though so don't worry too much. Also, I don't know anything about treating injuries or writing fight scenes, and the first one doesn't really fit in with the theme, but I hope you enjoy anyway lol!

Please tell me if there's anything I can do to improve this fic, such as fix a mistake or rewrite something that may be offensive or inaccurate! I want this fic to be as accurate and reader-friendly as possible.

WARNING: child abuse is in this fic, as well as basically everything else that comes with Shouto's background, so if you're uncomfortable with that please don't read!

"TODOROKI-KUN!" Shouto could hear Midoriya's shrill scream as he went flying back into the wall. His head slammed against it with a sickening crack, and he collapsed in a heap on the ground. Stars danced in his vision, spots fading in and out around the edges as he fought to remain conscious. His head throbbed painfully, and he was vaguely aware of something warm trickling down the back of his neck. Blood?

The noises of the battle around him started to blur together, the ringing in his ears drowning out the yells and shouts. What happened? Why can't I move?

Despite his attempts to sit up, to shift something, anything, all he could do was lay helpless and watch through the haze as Midoriya fought the villain by himself. Through the fog, he managed to piece together a basic account of what happened, recalling that the villain was about to hit Midoriya and he had jumped in their path. At least he had managed to protect Midoriya, and that was all he could ask for.

He didn't know how long he had been lying there before someone kneeled next to him, their frantic voice piercing through the clouds and grounding him back in reality. "Todoroki-kun? Can you hear me? Todoroki-kun?" He hadn't noticed that his eyes had closed until he had to crack them open to peer up at Midoriya's worried face. His face was scratched and dirty, and Shouto could see blood dripping from his temple. "Oh, thank God." A breath left Midoriya in a rush of air, but the tension was still clear in his shoulders. His eyes darted about, no doubt analyzing Shouto's injuries and planning the best course of action. Midoriya was always good at that.

"You're hurt," Shouto managed to croak out, the words falling clumsily from his tongue. Midoriya's eyes found his once again, and his hand went to his head.

"Oh, this? Don't worry about it, I can't even feel it! Now, could you tell me where your injuries are?" His words came out in a rushed mess, and it took Shouto a moment to decipher them with his muddled brain.

"...my head, I think." It felt hard to form the words, his tongue feeling like cotton in his mouth and his lips not responding the way he wanted them to. His eyelids felt heavy, and the thought of taking a little nap didn't sound so bad at the moment. Maybe Midoriya could join him later.

"...be here soon, okay?" Shouto only caught the end of the sentence, too busy thinking of closing his eyes and letting himself drift away. In fact, there really wasn't anything stopping him from doing that, was there? "Todoroki-kun, I'm going to need you to stay awake. Can you do that for me?" Well, maybe Midoriya was. Shouto could only manage a groan in response.

"Great, that's good, I can work with that. Okay, first-aid, first-aid, elevate the head and stem the bleeding too, we have to do that, okay. We've got this. Todoroki-kun, I'm going to lift your head, alright?" Shouto hummed, grimacing at the shock of pain when gentle hands lifted his head onto something soft. The pain increased further when he felt something being pressed against it, the pressure steady and firm. He moaned in discomfort. "I know, I know, I'm sorry. Just hang tight, okay? The ambulance should be here any second now."
