hi everyone! so, I didn't really like the other story cus there were a lot of mistakes, and I mean a LOT, so anyway, it didn't seem like people were really interested in the other book so I decided to take it down and edit it and plan it out before reposting. in the meantime, I watched a cool video about little-known facts and thought it would be cool to write a harry potter one, here are my efforts. enjoy. ( i hope! )

j.k.rowling, the goddess of writing and creator of the world-renowned harry potter series, shares her birthday with non-other than the boy who lived, harry potter himself.

the first book in the 7 book collection, harry potter and the philosophers stone (or sorcerers stone in some countries)was based around the philosophers stone(obviously!). it also loosely focused on Nicholas Flamel. who we see for the first time in fantastic beasts, the crimes of Grindelwald. Nicholas Flamel was the famed creator of the stone and was said to be over 640 years old at his time of death in 1991, Harry's first year at Hogwarts. but what many people don't know is that he was a real person who was born in the late 13th century, 1330, to be precise. he died on the 22 of March 1418 at age 87-88. it was only in the mid 17th century that rumors began to arise that he was a secret alchemist and creator of the aforementioned philosophers stone. in reality, he was a french scribe and manuscript seller. his childhood home in Paris, France has been made into a restaurant.

moving on to a cheerier subject, the birthday of Fred and George Weasley. rowling has confirmed that Fred and George were, in fact, born on April the 1st or April fools day. a fitting birthday for the two greatest pranksters that Hogwarts has seen since the marauder era.

you know how rowling chose such great names for her characters? while it is suspected that she got the inspiration for 3 of her characters in a church called Greyfriars kirk, written on one of the burial stones are many names, some of them being: Thomas riddle, Thomas riddle jr, and also the name: William McGonagall who was rumored to be one of the worst poets in Scotland. rowling also confirmed that she used these and other tombstones as inspiration, around the corner from the church is also a cafe called the elephant house cafe where the author apparently wrote part of her novels. also written on some tombstones are: alastor'mad eye' moody and Rufus Scrimgeour. many people also believe that this village was the inspiration for Godric's Hollow, where harry potter was born and where he and his parents lived until their death in 1981.

our favorite resident bookworm, Hermione granger, originally wasn't actually going to be Hermione granger at all! in an interview, rowling confirmed that Hermione's last name was actually going to be puckle! PUCKLE!! interestingly this would give her the initials H.J.P which stands for Hermione jean puckle it would also mean that she would share the same initials with harry, his middle name is James of course. coincidence? I think not. they were meant to be together!!  sorry please excuse my little rant, I'm a harmony shipper you see.

small fun fact: tom Felton, the actor for Draco Malfoy in the films, originally auditioned for the part of harry potter he didn't get the part but was offered to play Draco instead.

the Hogwarts motto is: Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus, which is Latin for: never tickle a sleeping dragon.

when j.k.rowling was young, one of the neighbors in her street was called Jim potter. it is thought that this was the inspiration for harry's last name.

when Arthur Weasley took harry to the ministry hearing for the use of underage sorcery, he entered the ministry atrium by pressing the numbers 6 2 4 4 2 in the red telephone box. those numbers on a phone spell out m a g i c.  cool huh??

last one for this release. do you remember what dumbledores door is? It's a griffin, making his door a griffin-door. I always like that one:)

anyway, thnx for reading. pls feel free to pm me or give some constructive criticism. also, if you enjoyed reading this, please leave a like and share it with others.

ps. my recommendation for a good fanfiction is a fic called 'harry potter and the elemental's power' its a great fic and one of the best I've ever read. you can find it on fanfictionnet.com  its ship is harry with a girl called Lillian and he's a water/ice elemental. well written and very good.
