I'm back~! Or so I'd like to say...

Kiyotaka POV

I was caught off guard by the sudden request, it almost made me laugh by the fact that this is the first time someone got passed through my psychological defense, though in an idiotic way.

Motoaki-san, on the other hand, let out a slight snicker. He was definitely enjoying this. This isn't a show you know? I don't even have any idea on what's happening in the first place.

Mori Calliope is the apprentice of Death. And of course, Death is definitely in a different league compare to a human like me.

Heck— Our category is different in the first place, so comparing us is like comparing a dog and a sea. Definitely not something you should think of in the first place.

And yet, why is she bowing her head in front of me? She's strong, indeed. And I'm sure Death himself taught her how to fight. I was so sure she can beat a human like me, and yet the polar opposite happened.

Did she hold back earlier? No, I was sure she's dead serious on killing me. Even though it's not her fault, her scythe pierced right through my hand. I even shattered most of the scythe, which further proves that the weapon she used is definitely made for execution.

"Uhh..." I was speechless.

I'm definitely going to reject her. Why would I even accept it in the first place? This whole thing is absurd. And yet, why do I feel like, even if I accept her as my apprentice or reject her request, something bad will going to happen to me.

"Now, now, Calliope-san. You cannot bow your head to a human, right?" As if a hero coming to the rescue, Motoaki-san patted Mori's shoulders. "Please raise your head. We can talk about this later."

If we have plenty of time to spare, that is... Motoaki-san slightly murmured to himself. I heard a faint sound of it, so I guessed most of the parts.

"F-Fine..." Mori reluctantly lifted her head upon hearing Motoaki-san's statement. "But I definitely won't give up!" She closed her hands together, her eyes burning with passion. She's an energetic one, huh?

Even though she looks like a pain in the ass to handle— with all her energy traversing through the atmosphere, I can certainly state right now that she'll bring the fun that I've longed last for. I'm sure that spending my time with her won't be a waste.

Well, if getting the fun and thrill that I desire means that I'll be caught up in various dangerous situations, then it's 100% much better to be bored forever. Getting involved in something troublesome is a hassle and a waste of time, after all.

"Oh, I just remembered." I slowly leaned forward and took the handle of the scythe. The actual blade was broken into tiny pieces like a glass.

Now that I got a clear look at it, this scythe doesn't look like it's made of iron or any steel ore that ever existed. It was a deep black blade, with a bit of a violet tendril-like thing around the edge cover.

Just to, again, make sure that this scythe is real or not, I picked up a fragment of the broken blade. I cut my index finger, forming a shallow cut on the edge where blood started to drip out of it.

Of course, this is definitely a real blade. This scythe literally made a tiny hole on my palm. How can I be so stupid?

I thought as I remembered the time Mori elegantly swing her scythe around her to make that perfect attack. She is definitely strong, and a beauty at that. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people who met her are all ready head over heels for her.
