Sasha walked down the unrefurbished steps of her Grandmother's basement that still had fifties carpeting lining the middle, trying carefully not to fall. They had just moved in a day ago, and after their parent's divorce. Sasha was still trying to get used to the new house. She had two juice boxes in her hands and a box of cookies. Her sister was sitting down looking at a dollhouse.

"Mom gave us cookies," Sasha had very little interest in the dollhouse as the cookies she was holding weren't just any old cookies, they were Oreos. "Hello," Sasha waved her hand in front of Casi's face putting the juice boxes down on the floor, "What are you doing?"

"I'm waiting to see them move."

"Casi I'm almost nine now I know they only move when you leave the room."

"No, I swear they were just moving a minute ago!" Casi began to get upset and when she got upset she would let everyone in the house know and Sasha wasn't in the mood to get in trouble for making Casi cry.

"Ok, ok. Stop whining. Maybe there's instructions somewhere."

Sasha looked around the dollhouse for a piece of paper only to find a few words written in script on the back. Neither Sasha nor Casi knew how to read the script. Frustrated she sat back in front of the dollhouse. She examined the dolls more carefully. There was a mom, a dad, and a child. The doll seemed to be made out of tiny white cloth but was only the size of a pinky finger. They had no clothing and the only way a person could tell them apart was through their sizes. The dollhouse itself looked quite like their own. It had two stories, not including the basement, and the fake furniture in each of the doll house's rooms looked so similar it was almost too close for comfort. Looking at the sides of the house a person could see the hinges that allowed the dollhouse to open and close. She waited a few more seconds before deciding to say,

"They're not gonna move, and I wanna eat the cookies."

"Just wait."

"No I wanna eat the cookies and mom said I had to share. We can play with it another time Casi. We always do what you want, can't we do what I want for once," Sasha's voice grew louder.

"I'm gonna call mom if you don't."

"Casi!" Sasha shouted louder this time unknowingly waking their mother who had unknowingly fallen asleep at the kitchen table after taking a break from trying to fix a drip coming from the sink.

"Sasha look!" Casi pointed at the dollhouse as the bigger doll slowly picked its head up as the rest of the body followed. Sasha screamed. Casi immediately covered Sasha's mouth.

"Shhh be quiet moms right upstairs. Now, I'm gonna let go and you're not gonna scream ok?" Sasha nodded her head "Ok, one, two..."

' "Mom!!"

Casi covered her mouth again but it was too late since Mom was already halfway down the steps.

"What's all the commotion about? If there aren't enough cookies for the two of you you'll just have to wait until I get some more." The girl's mom looked exhausted. Her hair was tied haphazardly in a bun, and pieces of blonde hair fell in front of her face that she brushed away with a wet towel. Casi had let go of Sasha's mouth the minute she heard her mother's voice.

"The doll's moved!" Sasha exclaimed.

Casi's mom breathed in heavily before responding, "If you girls can't agree on who gets to play with the dollhouse then I'll find another toy for you to play with but please don't start making up stories."

"But..." Sasha murmured.

"Not another word. It's almost your bedtime, so finish up playing with the dollhouse and come upstairs to brush your teeth and wash up."
