Chapter 9

Today was a new day, meaning that I was finally going to start my social transition and the first step is to start testosterone. I had already gotten my name changed legally when I was 16, and had it changed on all my official documents. There wasn't any training or vampire related things to do this week, so I went to find Charlie to tell her or rather ask her to come with me to my appointment at the doctors office and she agreed, as I would probably need help if I was having trouble compelling my doctor. And I guess because I'm not quite 18 yet, so would need an adult with me.
As today was also an over-cast day, It was safe for us to leave the house and almost act like a normal person.

We had just arrived at the appointment and everything was going well as I didn't have to come out to her because I had done that a couple years ago - so that was out of the way. "So, today we're here to talk about you wanting to start testosterone? I hear you're wanting to get testosterone gel." Dr. Smith asked. I replied while focusing on looking into her eyes, "Yes, I would like to start asap, possibly right now." She nodded and said "We can definitely do that, I'll just go grab some forms for you to fill out quickly and I'll get the pharmacist to order that for you." I nodded in reply and grabbed the forms from the desk to fill out (hoping that they weren't too long) and completed them before my doctor returned.

As we were getting ready to leave I wondered over to the pharmacy and asked when my gel would be in. They said in a few days, so I should come back then. I thanked them and left to go find Charlie, hoping that she didn't go far. "Hey, sorry that took so long. I wanted to be sure that everything would be ready asap." Hopefully she can come back with me to collect my testosterone.
I was finally feeling happy that I was getting closer to my transition goals that I had a silly smile on my face. "Hey, I'm happy for you, you did good today!" Charlie said. I can't wait to tell Quinn the news! I asked Charlie if I could swing over and let Quinn know everything (except for me being a vampire), and she said that I could but to be back around 9pm as it was hunting night. I of course said 'sure' and excitedly ran off over to Quinn's house.

I quickly texted her saying that I was coming over to tell her some very exciting news and that I would meet her at the tree. I knocked on the window and she appears, looking beautiful as ever. I hopped in and sat on her bed with a lot of excitement inside me. "What's gotten you so excited Mr Winters?" She asks. I calmed down just enough to say "I finally got my prescription for testosterone! And I should be getting it in a few days!" She looked at me almost with tears in her eyes and sprung up to hug me, "Ohmygod!!! That's amazing, woah. Do you want me to come with you to collect it?" She said after getting the excitement all out.

Quinn and I then met up a few days later to walk over to the pharmacy to collect my testosterone. 'I can't believe this is finally happening, I'm starting testosterone!' I thought to myself. I was so happy that I grabbed Quinn's hand; which almost gave me some sort of butterfly feeling in my tummy. I saw in the corner of my eye that she was looking at me and then at our hands and that she was smiling. This got me smiling too because seeing her happy made me happy, as thats all I want for my best friend. We continued the walk in a comfortable silence, which was perfectly fine as it was pretty normal for us to not say much.
We had finally made it to the pharmacy and I said "I'll be back in a bit when I have collected the T. You sit tight and if you hear anything out of the ordinary, come inside and I'll text my buddies to come collect the both of us and bring you home." She just nodded. She didn't look very happy about that but I pushed that aside, for now.

I was only inside for about 3 maybe 4 minutes and I looked over and saw that she was here, sitting on a chair in the waiting room. So, it was at least another minute or so before the pharmacist brought out my prescription which was quite big, might I add and I shoved it all into my backpack and rushed over to where Quinn was sitting.
"Are you okay?" I asked. "Yeah, there was a noise coming from the bushes, so I came in here as soon as I heard it." She replied back. 'I hope it wasn't anything bad and just a lost cat.' I quickly texted Raphael and said to come get us from the pharmacy who replied back quickly saying that he would send Damian, who I haven't met yet but he was the most experienced with humans. not even 5 minutes later, he was outside.

I hope y'all liked this chapter, it took a while to write but here it is. also, quite a long one so, enjoy. ask me questions if you want or suggest some plot holes for me to indulge in.
