F/n pov

It was a week after I had failed to track down and kill that Fallen Angel, the boy from last week is most likely dead and it was all because I was not fast enough. As I walked through town and passed people on the streets, I realized how happy many of them were. Some talking on the phone possibly with a loved one and others with a boyfriend or girlfriend at their side. It reminded me of my past.

Flashback

"Promise me you'll comeback to me." said Erica.

"I promise when I comeback, we'll get married. Once this war ends, we'll be happy." I said right before I got on the train to go towards the front.

Flashback end

I  continued walking down the street until I was out of town, I then proceeded down the road for almost thirteen kilometers, until I turned to my right into a wooded area. Once I walked through the trees for about fourteen meters, I passed through the barrier that hid my home from the prying eyes of both mortals and supernatural beings. I had recreated the City of Berlin, brick by brick until it looked exactly how I had remembered. There was a hustle and bustle through the streets with all of the civilians and soldiers I had created. I heard planes in the distance and the rumble of engines from tanks as well. There were banners and flags much like the flags I remember but with the Iron Cross instead of the Swastika and Eagle. I walked down the street and people waved or gave me an American salute. I didn't care for the Nazis, I never had I simply followed orders even if that meant I could have been killed for committing a war crime. If I hadn't I could have been courtmartialed and killed.

I walked to my apartment, and opened the door.

"Ich bin zuhause." I said. (Translation: I'm home)

I then realized that I lived alone.

I should really get something or someone to keep me company. It's not fun being alone for so long. Sure I have the people I made, but it's not the same.

I decided I'd go for a drive, even though I just got back I didn't know what to do. It was too early to think about drinking, and I didn't have anything to celebrate.

I walked out of my apartment, and I summoned an Admiral Cabriolet which was a nice black with chrome accents.

I got inside and turned the key in the ignition making the engine roar to life.

As I drove around, I ended up passing an animal shelter.

I parked on the side of the road, got out and I walked inside. I walked up to the counter and I tapped the bell making it ring.
