When Seven was regaining consciousness, it felt as if there was a hole in her chest. It didn't take her long to figure out what it was and what had happened when she had been unconscious.
Everyone's thoughts were so loud.
Wexler had spaced Two, and then put everyone else into the vault.
He had spaced Two because he wanted to code to the vault, so that he and his crew could steal what they stole for Mikkei and sell it to someone else. But they gave it to him, and he still spaced her.
Seven suddenly sat up, the feeling of pure agony flooded in to her mind, and she couldn't help but let out a small whimper. Everyone's attention was brought onto her. She didn't say anything as she looked at all the rest of the crew. Somehow they just knew what she was thinking, and although they didn't know how she knew that Two was gone and the others betrayed them, they were happy that they wouldn't have to explain it to the young girl who looked just as sad as Five and everyone else.
Seven has no idea what to feel. Two's gone, but at the same time it doesn't feel real. None of it feels real to her. Seven looks up at Five, who had sat down on the back next to her, and gives her a look. Five can tell exactly what it means, and she nods, confirming that this is all real, and Seven isn't dreaming.
For the next few minutes everyone is silent and they spread themselves out in the small vault room, leaning against or sitting on the different objects stored inside.
Then Six breaks the silence, "We need to find something to cut ourselves free."
Five stands up from where she was sitting, "I have a knife, it's in my boot. They never frisked me."
Seven stands up next to her quickly grabs the knife from Five's boot and cuts the tape off of her wrists. She throws the tape into the floor, and quickly cuts the tape off of Five as well.
"I guess sometimes it pays to not be taken seriously," Five says rubbing her wrists.
Seven heads over to Six, and begins to cut his tape too. Once she's done with him she starts making her way over to the others to cut them free as well. As she does this, a conversation ensues.
Six turns to Five, "Since when do you start carrying a knife?"
"Really?" Five questions in disbelief.
Four cuts in, "It's not going to do us much good as long as we're locked in here."
"I can't believe she's gone," One says suddenly.
It's silent for a moment. "He didn't have to kill her," Five says sadly. "We gave him the code. Why did he do that?"
"Guys like that think they need to send a message, keep us from messing with him," Six responds.
"Well he made a mistake," Three says, speaking up for the first time. "Cause I'm gonna do a hell of a lot worse than that. When we get out of here, I'm gonna kill 'em all."
...
The crew starts looking through the different boxes inside the vault, trying to see if they can find anything to help them get out of the vault and defeat Wexler and his crew. Seven knows that there's nothing so she just sits on top of one of the boxes, listening to the rest of the crew. She doesn't want to take away their hope in getting out.
As they're looking, the vault door suddenly opens. Wexler's crew is revealed pointing their guns at them.
"Back off," one of them yells.
Everyone takes a few steps back.
"You managed to cut yourselves free, congratulations," one of the men says.
