I held my stuffed bunny by the ear as I wandered the playground. I looked around and caught sight of a boy with spiky red hair sitting in the shadows. Alone on the swing. I scurried over to him and stopped in front of the boy.
"Hi, I'm Kiko," I said softly.
"Huh, I'm...hm," he averted my gaze and wore a worried look.
"I'm Gaara," he whispered.
"Wanna play, Gaara?" I smile and lift my bunny up.
"But why do you want to play with me?" He asked with a puzzled face.
"Why not?" I grab his hand and led him to a shady spot and we sat down.
"K-Kiko's..." The class looked horrified. I felt angry with them, they had no right to judge someone they didn't know.
"They all think I'm a monster. They hate me and want me dead..." Gaara whispered and looked at his feet with a dark expression. I grabbed his hands and he looked at my face. I gave him a gentle smile and look in his beautiful pale teal eyes.
"They might think that, but I don't..."
Later that night, after Yashamaru told Gaara about what would heal his heart, I entered the room slowly.
"Gaara, are you alright?" The red head looked at me with a pained look. His bottom lip trembled and I hugged him. I wanted him to be happy, not in pain.
"I'm sorry about earlier, I know it must've hurt so I brought you some medicine," Gaara held up the paper bag.
"Ew go away you freak!" The door slammed in his face and he dropped the bag in despair. We continued walking, passing his father who glared at his son. I scurried beside Gaara.
"Why...? Yashamaru, why?...." Gaara sobbed. The shinobi opened his vest and paper bombs were displayed.
He coughed, "I guess this it, the end..." I hugged Gaara and the man exploded. Sand formed a shield around Gaara and I.
Sand swirled violently and disappeared into Gaara's forehead, leaving a red kanji mark. He scowled and I grabbed his hands.
"Gaara, are you alright...?" He trembled and looked in my eyes, his filled with hurt and suffering.
