I put on my ballet slippers and started dancing in my room as I was spinning I felt a loose board and I fell when it moved I moved the board and saw a box
"I have to tell Tom" I said as I got up and turned invisible I tiptoed out of my room and started going to Tom's I went to his door and whispered
"tom come look what I found in my room," I said whispering through the door to not get caught
"coming watch out I am opening the door," Tom said as he slowly opened the door we were tiptoeing through the hallway until I saw one of the groundkeepers
"hold my hand" I whispered as I turned us both invisible as he looked right at the hall as I and tom stayed quiet he left and we went into my room
"That was a close one," Tom said as we went into my room and I showed him the loose board with a box under it
"look I found this box with wands and robes like if we were wizards and witches," I said as I opened the box and he grabbed a wand and so did I
"Woah ahh" he yelled when he made the closet turn on fire with his wand
"ahh tom" I yelled when the fire burned my arm
"Sorry are you ok," he said as the orphanage men came in and grabbed me and tom
"Let us go!" I yelled trying to get out of their grip
"We didn't do anything wrong!" tom yelled as they separated us into two different rooms they started hitting me with a belt as I cried for them to stop they left me in there and locked the door
"y/n are you ok," Tom said as I heard him from the other side of the wall I heard him sniffle
"yeah I can't wait until someone takes out of here," I said as I wiped the tears from my eyes
"it will be soon I promise I heard there is a man coming tomorrow gonna take someone to a school" tom said
"he might take both of us there I mean we are the most well-behaved kids here," I said
"you really think that we are here once every three days," Tom said as we both laughed
"I am gonna try and blast the door open," I said getting up and tried using my powers to blast the door open
"hold on I am gonna try the wand" tom said as I heard him open his door
"you did it," I said while he opened my door
"yeah come on before they see us," he said grabbing my hand as we ran to his room and locked the door
"Thanks, Tom," I said as he wrapped my arm in bandages the one that got burned by the fire
"the least I can do from burning you," he said as he got ready for bed and I put on one of his hoodies
" do you think we can get out of here one day," I said while I was laying on the floor with a blanket and a pillow
"I don't know y/n but if no one wants us we will escape," he said as I smiled
we fell asleep I tossed and turned all night having a nightmare about the times I and tom got caught as they hurt us every time I woke up breathing heavy
"Are you ok," Tom said rubbing my back
"yeah just a nightmare," I said as I got up and put on my uniform when a man came in
"hello tom can I talk to him," the man said
"yeah bye tom see you at breakfast," I said as I left the room I went to my room without waking up anyone and put the wand up my sleeve and saw my closet was burnt from the outside but the inside seemed untouched I was confused but I turned invisible and walked outside to the back yard and sat at the swing me and tom usually hang out at and waited for him when he came
"y/n a man wants to take me to his school" tom said looking down
"that's great what's wrong," I said
"he won't take you to," he said as I saw a tear fell from his eye and I wiped the tear away
"tom go I won't hold you back I will be fine here tom I promise," I said as tears filled my eyes knowing my best friend is leaving me
"I don't want to leave you here in this awful place I promised you we came here the same day we leave the same day," Tom said
"tom it's ok just know that I will miss you," I said while we hugged and we both were crying with tears going down our faces when the man came
"tom it's time to go," the man said as tom left as he waved goodbye to me and I waved goodbye back
(toms pov)
"why can't we take y/n," I said while packing as the man was looking at the picture of me and y/n on the camera we found
"she isn't the right person for our school tom you are a wizard but she isn't," dumbledore said
"yeah but this place is awful," I said while I finished packing
"I am sorry tom but no"dumbledore said
