Hearing a tap at the window, you jump up in surprise. Seeing an owl you'd never seen before, you quickly open your window. The owl flies in and holds out it's leg expectantly. Untying the letter, you don't recognize the handwriting on the front.
Running downstairs you yell, "Mum, I got a letter" she takes it off you before you have a chance to open it. "Hey that's mine" you say. "No you can't have it" you scream, "I'm sick of you always taking my letters and reading them before I can." Your mum looks at you in suprise as if she didn't know you'd have it in you to scream at her. "Honey it's for your on good" she says quietly. "My own good?!? I can't even have my own life because your always trying to take over" snatching the letter out of her hand you run upstairs and into your bedroom, locking the door behind you.
Opening it, you find out that you have a place at a school you had never heard of before, a school called Hogwarts, according to the letter it was a School of magic and you, were meant to be a student in the coming year. Quickly unlocking your door you run downstairs to ask your mum if she had heard of it. To your suprise she sighs and says "yes I went there when I was your age, I suppose I knew this was going to happen soon, I guess we had better go to Diagon Alley tomorrow, be ready tomorrow morning at 8:30." Gasping in shock you start to run up stairs, pausing on the stairs you say " I haven't forgiven you for not telling me."
