Whimsical

My writing style is hideous, and my grammar and punctuation are equally bad, so spelling and grammar errors should be expected :).

Back in primary school, when i was asked for a word to describe myself, i never had a convincing answer. It was always something bland like "awesome" or "cool" or "swag". But wasn't everyone bland back then. Before people had personalities and your worth was determined by how fast you ran in the athletics carnival or how many pokémon cards you had.

They were very simple times, for simple words and simpler relationships. As I grew up and started to figure out who I was, my word changed. It went from "random" to "epic" and eventually to "whimsical". Even now it remains near the top of my list of favourite words. Whimsical. It's such a joy to say, and even more of a joy to think about what it might be describing. I love the way it rolls off the tongue. Say it.

"Whimsical".

It's beautiful isn't it.

Now it might be nostalgia, or just existential dread manifesting itself as a desire to go back to being a kid, but in thinking about the word whimsical, i had brightened my day.

People always told me that being over-analytical wasn't going to get me anywhere in life, and that "you're just thinking harder than you need to about things that don't matter". But someone has to do the hard thinking. Right? I mean if no one thought hard, then we wouldn't have a society would we? Ahh, I digress.

Let's get back to business.
