Fake Love: Chapter 1
"JASMINE!!!"
"I'M COMING MOM!!" My mother always drilled me about being punctual. I've never really liked travelling by air. So I was trying to stall as long as I could.
"Jasmine I am serious! We're going to miss your flight!!" My mother scolded.
"Mom just give me a second to say bye to Kara!" I barked back. Kara has been my best friend since the second grade, I know I'm only leaving for a year but I wanted to see her as much as I could before heading off to London.
'Fine but hurry!"
I picked up my phone and dialed her number. She hadn't even answered and I was almost in tears.
"Hello?" She answered. Her voice almost sounded sad but confused, I've never called her before. Only text.
'Uhh hi Kara. Do you know what today is?" My voice sounded uneasy.
"Yeah it's your birthday, I was on my way out of the door to give you a birthday surprise but you called and kinda ruined it. Why do you sound upset?
"Today is also the day I leave for London... Don't you remember?"
"Oh my god.. Jasmine I... I can't believe I forgot.. D- Did you leave yet?" Her voice was shaky.
"Uhm no. But I don't think I'll be here by the time you arrive. So that's why I called you. I'm going to miss you so much Kara." I couldn't hold back my tears, I silently cried as I waited for Kara to respond. it was quiet for about thirty seconds before Kara finally broke the silence.
"I'm going to miss you too Jasmine. Have fun, I uhm. I have to go. Keep in touch okay? Call me when you land. Bye."
Before I could respond she hung up. I really was going to miss her. Terribly. We'd never had any fights or drama. We were like sisters. And I was leaving today. Without her. For a year.
