Bailey's P.O.V

After Damon said hi to Zack I ran into my room crying.

He only protects me because of a promise?  Did he ever love me or did he just be nice to me because of my mother? I just sat on my bed and cried when I saw Damon in my doorway.
Damon: Hey kiddo, what's wrong?
He asked and walked over and sat next to me. I looked at him still crying.
Me: Is that why I'm here?
Damon: Is what why you're here? Damon asked confused.
Me: Your promise to mom.
Damon looked confused and shocked at this.
Damon: No. You're here because you're my baby sister and I love you.
Me: How do I know that you're not just saying this?
Damon: Come here. He said patting his lap. I laughed but crawled and sat on his lap anyway. I still had tears in my eyes.
Damon: In 1849,I got the greatest gift in the world. I got a baby sister. I loved her the second I saw her for the first time. Then I held her and I loved her even more. I never wanted to let her go. A year later our mother died, but before she did she asked me to protect you, and I promised her I would never let anything hurt her.  But what no one knows is I made that promise to you before I made it to mom. When I held you for the first time I promised you that I would protect you no matter what. Bailey, I've loved you since day 1,and my promise had nothing to do with that.You're here because I love you and will always love you no matter what.
Me: Really? I said teary eyed.
Damon: Really. Damon said smiling. I love you, Squirt.
I hugged Damon and he hugged me back. I was smiling.
Me: I love you too, Damon.
I then got off his lap and sat back down on my bed. Damon then got up off my bed and kissed my forehead then he started walking out of my room.
Damon: Goodnight Squirt. He said turning around smiling.
Me: Night Damon.
