Periods isn't something to be afraid of really. You still think that it's scary? Well then, let me tell you what happens when your periods first arrive.

A period is created so that you can have babies. When it's your time to grow, the hormones in your body release an egg cell from your ovary which you can ask your mom about for further information (There are hundreds and thousands of cells in your ovary!) and start createing a lining of blood tissues and water. If you have a baby, these blood tissues and water will nurish your baby. But of course, you all are way to young to have a baby! so if you aren't having a baby, this blood and water realizes that it's not needed, so it falls out. All of this is done in the womb.

It falls out from the Virgina.

Okay! I have something shocking to tell you all, did you know that there are actually 3 holes? One for your feces, one for your urine and also. . . One for your Periods.

The mixture of blood is drained from that hole. You might notice some red blood in your underwear, so this is what to do if you are in some of these situations:

    - In home. Call one of your parents, they'll give you a sanitary pad (which you'll learn to use later in this chapter).

    - At school. If the stain if very visible, ask for a jacket or sweater from your friend and wrap it around your waist to cover the stain, so that you can go to a teacher and ask her for pads, or you can ask one of your teachers if you can call your parents if you would feel more comfortable talking to them. If the bleeding is heavy, you can create your own sanitary pad until you get one. Take some tissue paper and lay it on your hand, then fold the piece, after it's the desired size, place it in your underwear, it's not the most comfortable but it would have to work for the moment.

   - At a friends house. Call their parents as tell them that you need to go home. If you don't talk to their parents much, ask your friend to tell their parent about the situation.

   1. Remove the protective layer from the sticky part on the pad.

   2. Put the pad into your underwear with the sticky side facing the fabric. Make sure they stick together — it will help you prevent leaks.

   3. Spread the wings on the pad, remove the protective piece from the sticky part, and wrap them around the sides of your panties.

1. Wrap up your pad in some toilet paper and DONOT! Flush it down the toilet, it can lead to clogging up.

2. Instead throw it in the bin.

3. If you have a dog or cat, try to take out to trash even more or else your dog or cat could knock the bin over.

There are different types of pads.

-Low Flow

-Medium Flow

-High Flow

It depends on how much blood there is, if there's a lot of blood, you would probably want to use the 'High Flow' If you have a bit of staining you should probably use the 'Low Flow' Pad.

Change your pad every once in 4 hours to prevent it from getting too soaked.
