for generations, there were a group of sixteen skylanders who protected cloudbreak islands. everyone knew them as the heroes of cloudbreak islands. but when mount. cloudbreak granted them the ability to swap legs, their legacy would change into the swap force.

everyone knew their names; blast zone, boom jet, doom stone, fire kraken, free ranger, freeze blade, grilla drilla, hoot loop, magna charge, night shift, rattle shake, rubble rouser, spy rise, stink bomb, trap shadow, and wash buckler. everyone had seen their faces, seen them fight for skylands, and knew why master eon had chose these sixteen as members of skylanders. but did everyone know about what adventures they would go on, or what experiences strengthened their bond as a team?

these are some of the many short stories of the swap force. what they went through as a team. what each of them went through individually. who they fought. where they went. and why the denizens of skylands love them.

FOREWORD!

thanks for checking out this book! i'm @gouptotheskylands, the author of this book. you may know me from some of my other socials (like the skylanders amino, archive of our own, deviantart, instagram, or you are a follower of my wattpad account), from my other stories (like behind screens), or you may have happened to stumble across this book and have no idea who i am.

the reason why i started this book is because the swap force are my favourite fictional characters and they mean a lot to me. skylanders was a big part of my childhood and to this day i still love the franchise dearly. the swap force were some of my favourite skylanders when i was little. i remember how i would actually play with them and take photoshoots with them. i would come back to them again at the beginning of 2017 for a few months, and then in march 2020 (pre-pandemic) to now, both because because of nostalgic reasons. i wasn't sure why they were the skylanders that i kept coming back to, but there was just something about them that made them stand out from the rest of the skylanders.

now, the swap force and skylanders play an even bigger role in my life. i'm someone who struggles with depression and anxiety, and i use the swap force as a coping mechanism for my mental health issues (which is why i draw and write about them a lot!).

this book will contain some themes that may be sensitive to some readers. i'll make sure that if there is a one-shot that may not be suitable for all audiences, i'll put a disclamer in the chapter notes so you can easily avoid that one-shot.

you're free to send me any one-shot requests for this book, either by comment or pm! i'm open to anything, but i do have a few rules though: 1) i am open to write other characters that are not in the swap force, but don't request anything where a non-swapper is the main focus, 2) no original characters (cause i'm more comfortable with writing characters that you can imagine as your oc or yourself, if you know what i mean), 3) no smut (because writing smut makes me very uncomfortable), but i'm fine with anything mildly suggestive, and 4) obviously no pedophilia, incest, rape, etc. it might take me a while to finish your request but i'll try my best!

you're free to translate my works or post them on any other websites (i post on wattpad and the occasional ao3)! but please ask for my permission first and then give me proper credit.
