Shelby Garrett on Zoe Kola
September 9th 2014"Hi, I'm Shelby Garrett. Zoe is in my world history class. I don't know her well, but she's REALLY smart, I mean like, any college would be lucky to have her.
She sits right next to me and I've never seen anything below an "A" come back to her on a test. I really wish I knew her better actually. She's never shown anything but kindness towards me and overall she just seems like a really neat person.

We've known eachother since fourth grade, when I moved to North Carolina from Idaho. Zoe was actually the first person I met! She gave me a tour of the school and sat with me at lunch.
She promised to play basketball with me on the playground after we finished our math class, but when we returned from lunch, a girl named Arianna plopped down right next to me. She introduced herself and we hit it off right away.
By the time recess came around that day, I had already forgotten about Zoe's promise to me; to teach me the basics of basketball. I ended up playing tag with Ari and Jacob.
When the bell rang to dismiss school, I caught a glimpse of Zoe looking sadly over at me and my new friends, her arms limp by her sides and a bright orange basketball at her feet. I thought nothing of it, and didn't interact with her again until seventh grade, when I asked her to help me with my Biology homework.

Today, Arianna is still my best friend. Jacob is my ex. Becket Simon is my current boyfriend, and Zoe Kola is someone I copy notes off of."
