Next day was movie night, so we were on the hunt for movies to watch. We went to the shop and checked on netflix.
We also prepared snacks, and by prepared I mean bought some crisps and candy. For the rest of the evening we watched movies together. And as the sun started to fade and the moon rose, Phil got sleepy. I didn't want to sleep on the couch again, so I poked at him a few times in an attempt to wake him.
"Phil? Psstt, Philly? Cmon you have to go to bed." I heard a sigh escape his mouth as he drowsily opened his eyes and squinted at me.
"Fine." He whispered. He hobbled through the hallway but stopped at my door.
"Is it okay if I sleep with you tonight? Please?" I chucked, and couldn't help but hug him.
"Okay."
We got into bed, well, Phil kind of just fell onto bed. He snuggled me until we fell asleep.
At about 3:30 in the AM, I was awokened by a thrashing and whining Phil, but he was still sleeping. I shook him until he woke up, with red eyes and a frightened face. I sat down beside him, and hugged him.
"Nightmare?"
"Yeah..."
"Its okay, you're safe with me."
"Dan?"
"Yes?"
"Can, can you sing for me?" I smiled,
"Of course, Phil."
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy, when skies are grey. You'll never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine, away."
All of my memories, from when I first met Phil until now flooded my mind.
When I was just a fan, sending that tweet. When we started to Skype, and planned to meet up. When I saw you at the train station, waiting for me. When we made our first videos together, when we went to Japan, everything. I looked down at Phil and couldn't help but smile, knowing that my dream has finally come true.
"Lets go back to sleep, shall we?"
"Okay." Phil sniffled and I cuddled him.
When we actually woke up it was much later than we normally do, but that's okay. After we had our coffee I asked phil about his nightmare. He sighed but told me what happened anyway.
"I was at that store, with the, the robber guy? But, you were there too. And he was going to shoot me, but you.. You jumped in front of me. Dan that day at the store will haunt me forever."
"Phil its okay now, I'm alright and so are you. I know its hard to see something like that but its okay. Do you remember what happened after you left the shop?" I had to find out if he was arrested.
"No, I left right when the authorities arrived." I assumed he was caught and taken to jail, so a little stress was relieved.
"Okay."
