Chapter 20
IT was a peaceful afternoon and Kate had her new friend came over at their house. Her 40 year old neighbor visits her with a basket of fruits when she knew that she was already one month pregnant.
They're currently watching TV while knitting a sweater. Marisa taught Kate how to knit to help her relax during pregnancy.
"Thank you for visiting me today and for the fruits, Marisa. I appreciate it." Kate said.
"Oh, it's a small thing, dear. I know that pregnancy is hard, that's why you need to be ready in advance. Anyway, where's your fiancé? I don't usually see him home with you. Isn't he supposed to be taking care of you?"
"He's busy with work, and it's fine. Besides, I'm only one month pregnant."
"It's not fine, dear. The world is a dangerous place. Pregnant or not, he can't just leave you alone in this big house."
"It's fine, really. Our neighborhood is safe."
"That fiancé of yours should be thankful for having a nice neighborhood."
"Yeah, right." Kate chuckled.
The main door opened and Finn enters the house.
"Speaking of the devil." Marisa said then started to pack her things. "I gotta go since your fiancé is here."
"Thank you again, Marisa. I'll see you again tomorrow."
"Yeah. Take care."
"You can stay longer, Marisa." Finn said after kissing Kate's cheek.
"No, thank you. I have things to do at home."
"Well, thank you for looking out for my lovely fiancée. You're always welcome here."
"You should be paying me for that matter, right?" Marisa jokingly said.
Finn laughed. "You did not apply for babysitting."
"Haha! I'll do it next time." said Marisa before safely crossed the streets.
Nang makapasok ang dalawa sa bahay ay kaagad na siniko ni Kate ang nakaakbay sa kaniya na si Finn.
"Babysitting? Mukha ba akong baby ha?" mataray na sabi ni Kate.
"No, you're not. You look like a goddess but you're still my baby." sabi ni Finn habang hinihimas ang tagiliran niya na siniko ni Kate.
"Ahh... baby."
"I'm kidding, darling, I'm kidding." mabilis na sabi ni Finn nang sinamaan siya ng tingin ni Kate habang nag-uunat ito ng mga braso.
"Hmph."
Masuyo namang niyakap ni Finn si Kate saka hinalikan siya sa noo.
"Sinusumpong ka na naman ba ng katarayan mo?"
Sinamaan naman ni Kate ng tingin si Finn. Natawa lang naman ang lalake sa kaniya.
