Alyssa's POV:
"So, what's new?" I asked Kyle. "Nothing, love. What about you how have you been?" Kyle replied. "Same as you nothing. How's your wife?" I asked. "The wife passed away." Kyle answered We were talking over the phone and I could hear kids in the back-ground. "I'm sorry to hear that. So where are you again anyways?" I asked out of curiosity. "I'm at a daycare center picking up my son and daughter." He responded with joy in his voice. "Awe, how sweet. How old are they?" I asked. "Um, my boy is six and my girl is five. Do you have any kids?" He said. "Nope, it's just me and Precious, my golden retriever. What are their names?" I asked. "Mike and Angel. They're all I have left of their mom." He said sounding so innocent, I could hear two little kids screaming 'hi daddy'. " Awe,that's so adorable. They sound like wonderful kids, Kyle. Hopefully one day I could meet them. Maybe, we could all go out for ice cream?" I responded. "Yes, that would be awesome! I'm sure that they would love that." He replied with joy. "Okay, see you guys Saturday." I responded. "Bye love. We'll see ya Saturday." He answered then we hung up the phone. I walked over to my laptop and started to type poetry.
Background:
I live in a townhouse in a small urban area with my dog Precious. We live a quiet life and I recently came back in contact with one of my exes. His name is Kyle Smith he's 6'2 black hair, baby blue eyes i fell in love with his eyes, and a very attractive gentlemen. Now, me I'm 5'5 brown hair blond highlights, brown eyes, and kinda cute. I live in the state of L.A. He lives about a half hour from my house.
Kyle's POV
"Wow, I can't believe I ran into her mom." I said to my mother who was visiting from Arizona. "Really? How's she doing?" My mom asked. "Good. I can't wait until Saturday. Maybe, you can come with ma?" I asked. "Sounds fun where to?" She asked. "To get i-c-e-c-r-e-a-m." I spelled out so it could stay a surprise for the kids. "I'm in." My mother said with joy. "Good, I'll call Alyssa and tell her you'd like to tag along." I said waiting for her okay. She nodded and said "I'll go hang out with the children and leave you to it." She exited the room. I called Alyssa and the phone rang three times before someone picked up. "Hello?" Said a man. I was puzzled, why would a guy pick up? It took me a second to answer. "Hi, is Alyssa around? This is Kyle." I replied. "Yeah, I'll go get her. Hold on please." I could hear him yell 'Alyssa someone's on the phone for you' I tried not to laugh. "Hey, Kyle bear." She said. "Hey, Lyssa bear." I replied. "So, you talked to my brother." She answered. "No, he just said 'hello' and gave you the phone. What's his name." I replied. "Marcus, he's my oldest brother." She said. "You, can ask me anything." She replied in a loving voice. "Would it be okay if my mom tagged along?" I asked trying not to sound nervous, but failed. "Of course, why would I say no? I love your mom she's just so sweet." She replied. "You're the best Alyssa!" I answered. "Thanks, and so are you sweetie." She said. "So, what were you doing anyways love?" I asked out of curiosity. "Oh, my brother is helping me do some spring cleaning. What about you?" She responded. "Talking to my mother and now watching my mom out back with the kids." I answered her. "Maybe, one day it could be just us two eating lunch?" she asked. "I'd love that Alyssa!" I answered trying to play it cool. "Great." She replied. "Well, I guess I shall let you get back to cleaning." I said. "Yeah, thanks for the chat." She answered and then we hung up. I went into my room, smiling, I entered my closet searching through it trying to find an outfit for my date, with Alyssa. I finally found the perfect outfit. It was black skinny jeans, blue kicks, a plaid; black, white, and blue polo. Once I found my outfit I went out back to finish playing with Mike and Angel. When i got back we started to play hide-and- go seek.
*One Hour Later*
I heard my mother's voice from the backdoor. She yelled "Dinner's done!" So, I found the kids and we headed inside. "Mike, Angel go clean up for dinner." I saw them exit the kitchen and walk into bathroom so, as they left my sight I washed my hands and helped my mother set the table. "What are we having, ma?"
"Breakfast for dinner sweetheart. i hope you don't mind?" She answered sweetly.
"No, problem at all I love it. So, what exactly did you make?" I asked curiously.
"Eggs, turkey bacon, waffles, and toast." She answered. I nodded and sat down. The kids came back downstairs so my mom handed everyone a plate of food, After she sat down with her plate and we all ate began to eat.
"This is good grandma." said Mike and Angel and nodded in agreement. My mom did a modest chuckle in response since she was chewing. When she swallowed she opened up her mouth and thanked us for the compliment. I smiled and when I was finished I washed my dish and said good night to everyone. Then went into my bedroom. I was so excited for tomorrow I couldn't wait. I hopped into the shower and got washed. When I was done washing my body and hair I brushed my teeth. After all that he headed off to bed.

*The Next Morning*
Alyssa's POV
I woke up early, well actually around 9am, which is early for me on Saturday mornings. Anyways I jumped into the shower and got dressed. When I was done with my make-up and hair I went downstairs to feed Precious and myself. I was eating when my cellphone began to ring. I pulled it from my back pocket and it was Kyle. "Hello?" I answered
"Morning beautiful." He said which made me blush a little. I got up and put my dish in the sink.
"Well, someone sounds happy."
"Yes, I am. I hope you are too."
"I am."
"Good." By the way he said that I could tell he was smiling through the phone. I could also here Angel in the back saying 'daddy where are we going?' and Mike agreeing by asking 'Can we go now?'
"So, are you ready to go?"
"Yes ma'am. We'll pick you up in about 20 minutes."
"Okey-dokey." With that said we both hung up. I went to the bathroom to make sure I looked okay. Then I went back downstairs to watch TV while I waited.
*15 minutes later*
I was watching "Scooby Doo," it was Precious' favorite cartoon, when a black SUV pulled into my driveway. I stood up and opened the door. Standing there with a smile dancing, on his pink lips stood Kyle. I smiled back. "Hey early bird." He chuckled.
"Hey sunshine. Ready?" I nodded and he took my hand while he lead me to the car. I got in the passenger seat has he introduced me to everyone and we exchanged our 'hello's'. The ride was silent until we heard a loud rumple I turned around to see Mike giggling. "What did you do?" I asked Mike.
"I farted.." He replied. We all sniffed the air and began to cough. Kyle rolled the windows down.
"Dang man! what in the bloody hell did you eat?!" Kyle asked. everyone just laughed.
