Why Shion and Nezumi are going to meet again

Make you feel better about the ending

Okay, so first of, this obviously contains spoilers of the end. So stop if you haven t seen the end already&interested in ever seeing it.

And when I talk about the ending, I mean their separation.
So here I am trying to cheer you up, Idk if it works tho.

First of, ask why you are sad. Is it because they separated, or that we know that they won t meet up in the next 3 years at least (—> manga) or that we didn t see them meet again?

There are multiple reasons of why you feel sad about their separation, but let s see it from another point of view;

What if they woud've separated in p.ex. the middle of the book/anime, and see them meet up, it would ve been no big deal, so why is it now?
Then we would've seen how they did, now we don't. But we know that they will meet up. Both promised to never lie again to each other and Nezumi isn t a guy to break promises. He promised to meet Shion again, so he will. I know it s hard to believe or imagine since we won t see it, but they will. There s no ‚maybe', they simply will meet again.

And remember, just because the novel is finished, doesn t mean that their life or story is over. It won t get documented or published anymore, but their lives continue. We won t see how exactly, but we know that it will. Just view it as an documentation, a part of their life got documented, now the documentation stopped, but their lives didn t.

So yes, they did separate for a short while, and since we don t see the continuation it feels like forever, but that s not the case. They will meet up again, we just won t see it. There s just no way they won t meet again, I mean c mon, it feels like half of Shion s life turns around Nezumi, as if he will just die giving up on seeing him.

And now so their meet-up(?) is easier to imagine, here s possibilities how they possibly would:

The most realistic meet-up (-I think) is Nezumi going to Shion. So here are possibilities how he would:

-Just ringing on his door

-Just laying in his bed in the morning when Shion once wakes up (let s be honest, that sounds exactly like something Nezumi would do)

-When Shion does that move again where he opens the window and yells
-Similiar thing than above, but here that he doesn t directly appear but just appears after Shion thinks he didn t come to this yell (yk what I mean?) like some sort of mini plottwist, where p.ex Nezumi was behind him while Shion  was yelling
-That once when Shion is outside, that he will like see a rat and follow it (again) and the rat would lead him to Nezumi
-Shion being in danger (again) and Nezumi would help him out (again)

Another possibilities:

-Shion giving up on waiting and searching Nezumi himself
-Shion and Nezumi meeting up coincidentally (p.ex when Shion goes where westblock used to be)
-Both searching each other and finding each other

And yes, these were possibilities which came to my mind, and another thing is; I know it might make you also feel uneasy to not know when they will meet, but consider a few things:
-They might meet in 4 years, because I don t know about you, but Nezumi seems like the kinda guy who would came on purpose after 4 years, just so it would be like the first time, where they met again after 4 years
-I don t think they would wait that long, because Shion said that a life without Nezumi would be meaningless, so do you really think that Shion could wait that long? And also Nezumi, he doesn t show it, but I doubt that he would like to live a complete life without Shion.
-The reason of their separation, Nezumi said (in the manga) that it s because Nezumi wants to go to other places and Shion not (I forgot the exact word) but that for now, and I m pretty sure that one of them would after a while/when they meet up again, not really care about that that much anymore, so I think they would stay together then (edit: I reread the end, and Shion said that he won t let go Nezumi again when they meet the next time, so y all don t have to worry about that)
-Another reason of the separation was that Shion needed to ‚build' a new world, he couldn t just leave now, but once he s finished, he can just go and leave and meet up with Nezumi and eventually travel with him.
