"Wow" Alice breathed. "It's so beautiful" Alfred sighed in wonderment. The two friends were both finally eighteen and standing in front of the Eiffel tower, the first stop on their trip to see the world together. "I love you Alice" Alfred said suddenly, turning to face Alice. Alice smiled and took Alfred's hand in hers. "I love you too"

"Okay and now two teaspoons of vanilla" Alice instructed as she mixed together the cookie dough. Alfred carefully added the required amount of vanilla and Alice continued to mix the dough until it was combined. "Alright, now we just need to add the chocolate chips and then we can bake these!" Alice smiled. She turned to the cupboard and grabbed the remaining ingredient. "Alice you have something on your face, hold still" Alfred said. He swiped his finger across her cheek, leaving a smear of cookie dough. He grinned at her as she wiped it from her face and smiled. "Oh it's on white rabbit" Alice grabbed a bit of the dough and chased after Alfred,  and the couple laughed as they ran around the house.

Alice would never tire of cuddling Alfred. She'd wrap her arms around him tight and breathe him in, feeling comfort in knowing that he was there. He'd hold her and rub her back and pet her hair and she'd kiss his cheek, falling deeper and deeper in love with him.

Alice lay awake next to a sleeping Alfred. She couldn't help but watch him as he slept. He was so peaceful, the way his chest would rise and fall with every slight breath reminded Alice that he was alive and he was with her. She gently played with his slightly curly hair, brushing it through with her fingers for awhile before pressing a soft kiss to his head. "I love you Alfie"

"Hi my love" Alfred smiled, laying on the grass next to Alice, the wind blowing through his hair. "Hello my dear" Alice smiled through tears. Alfred cupped Alice's face and kissed her forehead. "Don't cry Alice, I'm here" Alice couldn't feel his touch and yet she grabbed his hand and held it tight. "Stay with me longer than last time? Please?" Alice asked. Alfred smiled. "Of course"

He could never stay. He was always the white rabbit, running out of time to be in their wonderland. Alice kept him, a part of him, in another room in her head. But all too soon she'd always wake up without him there.
