My Person - A Damijon Story

Flashback August 5th 2018 Gotham
Most of the Batfamily were either in bed after being out patrolling the night before and not sleeping or were currently out or getting ready to go out, or like Dick were in a completely different city. Damian was sitting in his Fathers chair looking at unsolved case files, he was supposed to be going on a secret date with Jon in half an hour, but he didn't want to arouse suspicion. He was looking into all of the unsolved Deathstroke files, as recently there had been murmurs and rumours that the masked mercenary was back in Gotham.

"Where are you hiding?" Damian asked the screen

"Master Damian, they better not be active case files. You're still benched after that stunt last week" Alfred stated as Damian changed what he was looking at

"They aren't Pennyworth, and you know I wouldn't have dropped Pyg the full twenty stories, I wanted him to think I would. I would have stopped him after he fell about fifteen" Damian replied

"Hmm, until your Father says otherwise your suspended remember that, now I am making a pot of Earl Grey for Mistresses Selina and Helena would you care for some" Alfred offered

"No I am fine Pennyworth" Damian responded as Alfred left

Damian went back to the case files when a red light started flashing on the console, he went to see what that was about. When he did it was one of his many spy drones, it had picked up movement of Assassins and Slade in downtown Gotham. So Damian hopped on his bike and went racing through downtown Gotham, he was in his Robin uniform and was tracing down Deathstroke. He had decided not to tell anyone about it as when it came to Slade Wilson, Damian took it as a personal vendetta which carried over from from his time before being Robin. As he was racing through the streets his phone started ringing so he answered it.

"Hello" Damian said

"Hey babe, are you almost here?" Jon asked

"Yeah, there is just a lot of traffic" Damian replied

"Are you lying to me, Dami I know you hate your birthday, but that's why we are celebrating today combining it with date night" Jon exclaimed

"I am on my way beloved, I wouldn't miss it because it's with you" Damian stated

"Okay you always know when to say the right thing, but get here soon. Please" Jon asked

"Beloved, I will be there I would never miss dinner with you because I love you" Damian replied

"Just get here soon" Jon said hanging up

Damian continued riding until he arrived at the building, he swore he would only be here for two minutes, five at a max. He walked into the building and turned on his night vision, he walked around the building. He went down to the basement where he found an object covered by a tarp in the middle of the room. He walked up to the tarp and pulled it off which set off the countdown on the bomb in the room. It was set for five minutes, Damian went to defuse it but was distracted when a dagger flew past his head.

"You made it" Slade stated

"I wouldn't miss blinding your second eye" Damian replied

"That won't be happening today, catch me or defuse the bomb" Slade spat running off

"I can do both" Damian said leaping forward

Damian chased him to the roof where he saw Slade standing on the edge, but before Damian made another step forward he was hit by a blunt object on the back of the head and he fell unconscious.

"I wanted to do that" Slade exclaimed

"We'll I did, get over it" Talia spat tipping the Robin insignia off Damian

"Why did you do that?" Slade asked

"In case there is a tracker in it" Talia stated

"We should get moving we have two minutes left" Slade stated

"Then carry him, and don't hurt him or you die" Talia sniped

Slade picked up Damian and he and Talia left with their assassins and ran off into the night leaving the building to explode.

Back in the Batcave currently
Bruce, Harper, Tim and Jason were returning from patrol and Steph and Cass were training when they heard the booming of the sound barrier as Jon flew into the cave.

"Jon what brings you around?" Bruce asked

"I was supposed to be meeting with Damian, but he never showed even though he said he was on his way" Jon replied

"Damian has been suspended from patrols he wasn't supposed to be out" Harper stated

"We weren't going on patrol, I did say I was meeting Damian not Robin" Jon replied

"No need to be so snarky we can check for his bike" Tim said walking up to the Batcomputer

"What were you two going to be doing?" Jason asked

"I dunno friend stuff" Jon stated

"Guys, there's been an explosion downtown and Damian's bike is parked right there" Tim stated

"What about his tracker" Steph questioned

"He disabled that" Jon blurted out

"Wait, what?" Bruce questioned

"He didn't like the idea of you watching him all the time and he disabled it" Jon replied

"Okay mask up, we are heading out" Bruce ordered

They all left the cave and headed to the explosion site, to find the building burning. They couldn't see any bodies and Jon took off instead of staying with them. Bruce sent Damian's bike back to the cave and had the others set up a search grid and begin searching while he stayed behind and looked through all the rubble that wasn't burning. He walked past the Robin insignia three times and didn't notice it. They would continue searching for months before they would slow down the search, but Bruce as Damian's disappearance went on longer and longer was on a downward slope and began losing his taste for being The Batman.
