Emelina fluttered her eyes open once realizing her slumber was disrupted by the feeling of soft lips touching her face repeatedly. She met eyes with one certain tousled blonde boy. "JJ?"

"Time to surf those waves, baby!" JJ said, excitement in his voice. Emelina blinked, staring out to the window that had no ounce of sunlight shining through. Her eyes travel to the clock beside the bed, "It's 5 AM?!"

He nodded and pulled her with him in a seating position. She quickly rubbed her eyes, yawning and debating whether or not to slam her head back in the pillow and forsake the plans to sleep instead.

"By the time we get to the beach, the sun will be rising and the best waves will come to us. Surfing 101. C'mon, you should know the basics." JJ told her and joined the floor to fetch his shirt before slipping it on.

Emelina blinked slowly again, still dazy from her sleep, and looked at him in surprise. "How are you awake?"

"Never underestimate a man who surfs," JJ stated and slipped on his combat boots. He stepped near the bed, supporting his hands on the mattress before leaning in closer to her. "Good morning." he greeted softly, placing another kiss on her cheek.

She smiled, "Hi."

"Hurry up and get dressed. We gotta be quiet so we don't wake Pope and Kie up."

After last night, they laid in the hammock and fantasize about their future. She wanted him to have a purpose, so this surf trip was at the top of their list. She just did not expect the lessons to be so soon.

After scurrying out of the Chateau quietly and grabbing the surfboards, they made it to the empty beach. Just how they liked it.

Although surfing did not favor Emelina, she always felt drawn to the ocean. The crashing waves, the salty smell, the grainy sand, all of it was peace to her. The ocean was her home, and she was proud to say her boyfriend felt the same way—maybe even more enhanced.

JJ rushed right into the water, his surfboard floating next to him with the help of his hands as his eyes watched the slow sunrise.

Emelina dipped her toes in at the shore and yelped, drawing back at the sharp feeling. "JJ, it's too cold," she complained, well aware that it was now September and the blazing heat was coming to an end.

He turned around and she caught his rolling eyes. "You'll get used to it. C'mere, we're gonna miss the good waves," he said and motioned her to come closer with his two fingers.

Emelina inhaled her breath, holding it as she submerged her whole body into the water. Just get it over with, she thought to herself and finally reached the surface, shivering at the coldness and found JJ grinning at her.
