AU - You can feel what your soulmate feels emotionally, and anything that happens on your body appears on theirs.
You knew he'd be here soon. So did they. Which is why they didn't waste any time in pinning you down and carving deep lines into your arms, from wrist to shoulder. You knew what Koshi's first thought would be, and you hated that they would hurt him at the same time.
The two girls left after that, and you were laying in a hidden area behind the school, bleeding out from all the cuts. They were deep, but you couldn't move because of how much it hurt. They'd chosen this spot for a reason; it was hidden and they knew they wouldn't get caught.
Tears started pouring down your face, and you recognized that they were more than just yours. Koshi was scared. He was worried. He was afraid you might do something worse, and he was terrified he wouldn't be able to stop it. You wanted to tell him what happened, to make him stop worrying so much, but moving your arms hurt.
A piece of paper landed next to you, and you took the chance. Your vision was going dark at the edges, and you had to hurry. Using your own blood, you wrote down two short sentences before the blackness surrounded you and you passed out from pain and blood loss.
Koshi's POV
We were taking a break from practice when Daichi grabbed my arm.
"Suga what happened?!" he asked.
"What?"
I glanced down and saw so many lines appearing on my arms. I felt the pain second hand, only a sliver, through our connection. My water bottle dropped to the floor as I realized what she was doing.
"NO!" I shouted, bolting out the door without a second thought. Frantically, I started looking anywhere I could think of, feeling as the sliver of pain snaked up from my wrists all the way to my shoulders.
Where is she? Why is she doing this? Why didn't she tell me?
My eyes were tearing up, and it wasn't all me. She was crying too.
I ran down the stairs, almost falling in my haste. She wasn't in the building. Where was she?!
I'm running out of time. What if she does something worse?
I started running around the building when I felt the connection start to fade out.
"NO!" I shouted again, refusing to let this happen.
I made it to the back of the school and saw her, ghostly pale, laying on the ground with a paper in her hands. I ran over, tears pouring down my face, and checked her neck for a pulse.
She isn't dead yet, I thought. That slight relief was enough to clear my head. I called an ambulance, and then Daichi.
"Daichi!"
"Suga? Are you both okay?"
My voice was shaky and I was still crying.
"Daichi, there's blood everywhere. She's not moving. She's barely breathing I don't know what to do."
"NO!" Hineta's voice sounded through the phone. Everyone was probably listening.
"Try to stay calm Suga," Daichi said. "Where are you?"
"Behind the school. An ambulance is on it's way."
He hung up and soon the entire team was there, helping me stop the bleeding. We eventually made it to the hospital, and only then did I finally read the note.
I love you Koshi. It wasn't me.
I tensed, my emotions freezing like ice in my veins. She wouldn't have said this if it weren't true. Not in this situation.
I clenched my fists. I would find the person who did this to her. And they were going to pay big time.
But right now Y/N needed me. I would wait until she woke up. And then I'd handle it. And if she didn't wake up, I'd handle it anyway.
I sat by her bed, only moving when absolutely necessary. The team understood. Of course they did. After the doctors told us she was in a coma due to blood loss, I'd cried again. Since then I've stayed with her, pleading for her to wake up, to come back to me.
Two Weeks Later
Everything around you was gone. You were floating in an open expanse of nothing. You don't know how long you've been there. Sometimes a light would show up, but you didn't want to follow it. There was something. Something you couldn't leave behind. But everything was so fuzzy. The light was so warm, and you couldn't remember...
"Please."
It was the first sound you'd heard in this black abyss.
"Please...Please...Don't leave me..."
He was sad. You could feel it, circling around you as the endless black slowly got lighter.
"Don't leave me Y/N...I'm sorry I wasn't there...I'll do anything for you if you just don't leave me..."
Koshi. That's what you needed to remember. He's the one you'd been staying for.
The agonizing sadness and pain in his voice only made you feel worse. An old instinct started to surface, and you knew he would recognize it too, because you felt it in your chest.
You wanted him to feel better.
But you were falling again. It was getting darker, and you didn't know if you'd have the energy to get back out again.
"No, Y/N don't leave me!" He shouted, his voice panicked. "You're right here I can feel it! Please stay with me!"
You wanted to. You wanted to stay with him. But you were sinking and the light was calling you again. You couldn't hear Koshi anymore. Where did he go? Did he leave you? Why was he gone?
Then you felt it. It was a small break in the blackness. A spiral of terror and fury and sadness that all stayed in one spot. You reached for it, grabbing hold as it solidified. As you did so, you felt the fog thin, just a little, and one thought entered your head.
I'm not done living yet.
You pulled yourself up, forcing the darkness to fade. Koshi's heartbroken sadness gave you enough strength to keep going. Enough reason. You weren't leaving him.
Slowly, you started climbing out of the fog. It lightened, and you could hear Koshi crying hysterically. You moved faster, and soon, the black faded to white.
You opened your eyes slowly and looked around. A hospital room. Figures. You made sure you were completely awake before looking down at the figure next to you.
You hadn't moved when you'd woken up, and Koshi was still crying his eyes out next to you. His sadness was almost unbearable, and it was clear he couldn't feel anything through his own anguish. You weren't sure you could either. He was laying face down on the bed, and you gently started running your hand through his silver hair.
He glanced up, and you felt his shock and surprise and so much sadness, and pulled him into a tight hug, ignoring the stabs of pain in your arms.
He wrapped you in his arms protectively, crying into your shoulder. You stayed there, relieved to be with him again. He suddenly moved and kissed you, sorrow and fear and love washing through the connection. You kissed back, parting only when you couldn't breathe.
"P-Please." he was still crying, and it was the first time you'd heard him stutter. "Please don't leave. Stay with me. Stay with me and I promise, I'll do anything. Anything if it means I won't lose you."
You pull him into another hug, and he holds you, afraid you'll leave if he lets go.
"I won't Koshi," you say. "I won't leave you."
You sat there, holding each other, as the sun rose into the sky.
I don't know if this is cheesy or cringy, but here.
