Sai

I knew it wasn't a joke, but I wanted to believe that it was.

I felt it inside me that she wasn't safe. Nori had become such a huge part of me that I could feel it in my bones that she wasn't with Keon. As soon as he said that, I knew.

Eli looked at me, unsure of what to do but still concerned. I pushed all thoughts of that kiss we shared to the back of my mind. Someone had my babygirl, and I was pissed.

I ran inside and grabbed my keys off the kitchen counter. Neisha and Ada were in the kitchen, but I didn't have time to explain what was going on.

"Sai, you there?" Keon talked into my ear. After those last words, I hadn't heard nothing he said. I rushed out to my car and started the engine. Wherever she was, I was gon find her. And whoever had her was going to die.

"Yeah, where you at?" I started backing out of the driveway as everyone rushed outside. I saw Eli talking to them, probably explaining what was going on. I didn't have time to worry about that now.

"Just got back from my sister house to see if she had Nori. She aint answer my calls so I pulled up and her place was empty. I don't think it was my sister though, cause she don't have my address and the court ordered her to stay away from Nori. My momma don't got her, she not at daycare, I asked all the neighbors and shit. Sai, man, where my daughter at?"

His voice cracked and I could hear the pain in his voice. I couldn't let that distract me, I had to hold onto hope that we would find her.

"I'm going to your place, meet me there. We gon find her okay? Stay on the phone wimme," I said, stepping harder on the accelerator.

About 20 minutes later I was parking my car and running up the steps, busting through the front door that was unlocked.

The whole place was trashed. Everything was turned upside down, pillows, clothing, books-- all of it everywhere. I couldn't tell if someone broke in or Keon messed everything up in an attempt to look for Nori.

"Sai," he came out from behind a corner, almost making me shit myself. We were both on edge.

"Tell me what happened," I spoke as calmly as I could.
