Stuck at Sea

Chapter 1 - The battle

Sonic's POV

I was fighting Metal Sonic, waves crashed against the bottom of the cliff where Eggman's newest base was situated. Something was off about this particular fight, I was losing.

Eggman walked out as Metal jabbed his cold metallic fist into my stomach, I let out a grunt as I fell to my knees. Coughing, I look up at Metal with a hand on my stomach, he was staring down at me with Eggman beside him. "Ho ho ho," he laughed, "What's this? It seems that I have finally beaten the so called Hero of Mobius." He said with a grin which soon faded as I spoke.

"You.. haven't beaten me yet Eggman, I'll... just keep come right back to kick your sorry butt." I kept pausing from the pain, but when I was done I had the smuggest look on my face. I soon learned that that smug look wouldn't last as Eggman did something I ever expected. He rolled his hand into a fist and punched me in the jaw. I spit out a bit of blood, but before I could do anything he picked me up threw me over his shoulder. He walked inside of his base with Metal not far behind. "So what are you going to do to me now Eggman? Torture me? Throw me in a cell for all of eternity?" I ask trying to get out of his grasp, but it only ended with him tightening his hold on me.

"Oh I have something much better in store for you hedgehog, something that'll keep you out of my hair once and for all!" Egghead chuckled, as we walked I heard shuffling beside me and turned my head to look. The room was dark, all I could see was a silhouette of a small being -half of his body covered by what seemed to be a crate- with piercing sapphire eyes that were staring back at me.

I didn't have time to react to the small being for we had reached a door, it was like the front door, but smaller and less grand. It opened and Eggman let out a laugh, "Ho Ho Ho, time to meet your end Sonic!" He said, he took me off his shoulder and turned me to face the end of the cliff we were on. The waves were more violent than before and the sky was a dark gray, "Ooo looks like we made it just in time, the storms about to start." Eggman said cheerfully. "Well Sonic, our fights were fun while it lasted, but sadly all good things must come to an end." He said with the evilest grin on his face. 

I could have ran far away from here, but I had cuts and bruises all over making escaping seem near impossible. I had to try though, for mom and my siblings, Sonia and Manic. Besides if I was going to die, I might as well go out fighting. I dashed passed Eggman and towards the door only to be blocked by Metal clotheslining me. He dragged me towards the edge of the cliff and let go of me, "So *cough* this is really the end, huh?" I asked slowly getting up with hand on my neck. Eggman chuckled as he walked up to me, "I'm afraid so, I wish I could say that I'd miss you, but I won't." I smiled at his statement, 'Yep, he's still the same old Eggman that I had met so long ago.' I thought as he stepped closer until he was a foot away from me. 

"Any last words, Sonic?" He asked, I thought a while before answering, "More like a last question. Who was that figure I saw inside?" The doctor's smirk dropped before widening into a smile. "That was my assistant, but you don't need to worry about him. In fact, where you're going you don't need to worry about anything." Satisfied with that answer, I sighed and looked away, 'Of course he had someone helping him.'  I looked back at the doctor and robot with a content smile, "Ok, then tell my family that I love them." and with that he Spartan kicked me off the cliff.

As I fell I saw that figure again, he rushed up to the edge beside Eggman and Metal Sonic. 'Sorry you guys, looks like I couldn't protect you like I promised.' Accepting my fate, I closed my eyes and smiled a genuine smile as I crashed against the cold waters of the Pacific.

??? POV

I was practicing seeing in the dark when a door opened to reveal the doctor and Metal Sonic 'Strange, did their fight with that fast hedgehog finish?' I thought. It wasn't until I saw something on his shoulder that I finally clued in. We had won. I stared at the Mobian and he stared back, his emerald green eyes were locked onto mine, but before anything could happened they walked outside. I ran to the closest window and opened the curtains. The light blinded me for a moment, but when I got my vision back I watched them, they seemed to be talking. The blue hedgehog tried to run, but got stopped by Metal. I ran to the door and got outside just in time to see Eggman kicked him off the cliff. I ran to him and saw the former hero fall into the icy water only to be swept away by the current.
