Embers in the Dark

All Hallow's Eve: Part 1

Rose sniffed the griffin again and blinked.  "Arthur?" she asked.

"Yep," the griffin said.

"So, we finally meet."  Rose looked around at the energy shield and sighed.  "That thing really is not gonna help ya," she commented before noticing other people and animals in the shield with them.  "Huh...ya got a whole entourage and everythin'," she giggled.  "How cute."

The group walked up behind Arthur and clustered around him.  Rose looked at them all with a smirk.  Some of them she knew, though not personally.  Lilly did, though.  There was one pale man with black hair that Rose noticed and she barked with laughter.

"Hello, Vlad," she said softly.

The man nodded his head.  "Hello, Rose."

"What brings ya here, Impaler?"

"Where is Abraham?" Vlad asked.

Rose quirked her nose up, flaring her nostrils.  "Why?"

"Because I know you had something to do with his disappearance."

Rose huffed before looking at Vlad with a playful expression.  "I ate Abra-Ham Hands."

"When?!" Vlad snapped.

"After your Samhain party."

Vlad sighed before shaking his head.  "Dammit."

Lugh arched a brow.  "Dracula invited Lilly and Van Helsing to a party?"

"Mmhmm.  Lilly traveled with Van Helsing for a while, then Vlad commissioned him tah kill a vampire in one of his covens and, well, Lilly tagged along."

Dracula chuckled.  "She did much of the work, however.  That party was quite literally a blood bath."

A bark of laughter escaped Rose.  "Yeah, it was great."

Vu cleared his throat before stepping forward.  "I would like to hear story of party," he said.

Rose chuckled and shook her head.  "No, I couldna possibly.  We're here tah fight, not exchange stories."

"Actually, I'd like tah hear this one, too," Lugh said before sitting down.  "C'mon, Rose.  Please?"

Rose scrunched up her face before looking over at the carriage.  "Well, I suppose one little story wouldna hurt..." she said before looking at everyone.  "Excuse me fer a moment," she said before turning around and going to the carriage.

"What are you boys doing?" Brigid asked Vu and Lugh.

Vu grinned.  "Give people time to get out of city.  And give me time to figure out that," he said while pointing at Rose.

Everyone looked at Rose's back in shock.  "Are those...pipes?" a caramel skinned woman asked.

"I think so," Lugh replied before messing with his field research bead.  He aimed his fist at Rose and read the information on his screen.  "Um...she's made of metal, wood and flesh.  That isna normal."

Vu cocked his head then shrugged.  "It true what people say about food."

"What's that?"

"You are what you eat."

Lugh burst out laughing before turning his research bead off.  Rose came back to everyone and plopped down on the ground.  "I can tell ya one story, but then we gotta fight."

"Who is in the carriage?" Anubis asked as he came forward.

"Oh, I ain't gonna tell ya that, at least not yet, Anubis," Rose said with her head raised.  "Good tah see ya, by the way.  Now everyone take a seat."  Everyone looked at each other, then ultimately they all sat or laid down across from Rose.  "Now, prepare yerselves fer a really bizarre tale."
