The next day Killua put on a monotone expression and his concealer. He forced himself to eat food even though he didn't want it, he showered and then got dressed in his favorite outfit. Killua ordered some gunpower off the internet last night so it was due to arrive sometime soon. He made his way to the hallway near the door to wait. After a few minutes of waiting, the doorbell rang. He retrieved his box and was about to go back in when the delivery person grabbed his wrist. "Hold on kid" He paused, then looked into his eyes. "What use you do have for this? Depending on your reasoning it might be illegal" He sighed, "Need it for my quirk" He said in monotone. Mitsuki came up behind him with a smile. "Oh hey-" She paused when she noticed that the delivery guy was holding on a bit too tight on his wrist. "is something wrong?" His eyes narrowed slightly. "This kid purchased gunpowder and says it's for his quirk. I'm not sure if I quite believe that" Mitsuki frowned down at him for a second, then sighed. "Sorry for the confusion sir, but it is for his quirk" Mitsuki said. His eyes widened. "O-Oh, sorry ma'am" He removed his grip and rubbed the back of his head. "No I get it, if I didn't know him then I would have questioned it too" Killua grabbed his box and then the delivery man got out his contact and hair dye box. "here you go as well-" Killua took it as he tried to give it to Mitsuki and turned, then went back into the house.

He stood in the mirror, looking at his face. He had red contacts and tanish hair now, Killua used some hair gel to spike it up a bit so it matched Mitsuki's. good enough I guess. Then he sat down on his bed and opened his gunpowder box. If I... Nen and quirks were not the same, but they were similar. What he was planning to do would only be possible because of who he is, he doubted anyone else could pull it off. So he grabbed a grain or two of gunpowder and rubbed it into his palm, then activated a bit of Hatsu to set it off. BANG. He blinked down at his palm, the explosion wasn't too big and it didn't hurt all that much. He repeated the action a few times, then his door banged open. "What's all that noi-" Killua heard a gasp and Mitsuki grabbed his arm. "W-What the hell are you doing?" He gently removed her arm, then looked her in the eye. "Altering my quirk" She looked confused, so Killua sighed and slipped out his taser. "Watch this" He activated it and pressed it to his arm, then drew it back and let some electricity crackle around his fingers. He gestured to his hands. "If I do it enough times, then I'll be able to do it at will" Mitsuki sat down on the bed beside him. "Doesn't it hurt?" Killua blinked. "It used to" He said honestly, then sprinkled a grain of gunpowder on his palm and used the reaction to explode it again. Mitsuki flinched, he didn't. "I only do a few grains at a time so I don't really injure myself. Actually, I thought I was quirkless until I got electrocuted a few too many times. I use the taser to charge although I don't need it every time"

He focused, then exploded his hand again. Killua concentrated on expending the power at the same time he used his Nen and he saw a spark. Mitsuki's eyes widened slightly. "That's such a..." He huffed. "Awful power?" He continued for her. "yeah, it kind of is. But my pain tolerance is through the roof from training, my strength is what comes from that training as well" Mitsuki rested a hand on his back. "How would you feel about going to a hero school?" Killua froze. Hero... Did he want to be a hero? Could he? He let his eyes drift sideways to his photo of Gon and him, it rested on his nightstand propped up. I...he always said I could change, that I could become a better person. He...he was a hero. My hero. Killua crossed his legs beneath him. I will, I'll be good. I'll be a good person, save people, just like you would. "Yes" He said, without a shred of doubt in his voice. Mitsuki smiled. "Great, once you turn 16 you can attend U.A and become a great hero" He nodded. 16...that's two years. I can train and perfect my new role. Killua thought for a moment. "If you give me a few personality traits I could work on my role" He said. Mitsuki hummed in response, then grabbed his phone and started typing. Killua practiced his new ability for a while, making sparks with his new 'quirk' while gunpowder was on his hand. Sure it stung, but the pain would fade.

Killua looked down at the list of traits. I don't particularly want to come off as a self centered prick, but I can do it. Not that she actually wrote that down, it's just what he thought would happen when he put all those traits together. 'you are the best, the strongest, confident, don't let people walk all over you' most of that sounds like advice and not traits. But it gave him an image, and an image was what he needed. Killua thought for a moment. "I can do that" Mitsuki sighed. "I have a question though" He glanced up at her slightly worried expression. "Hm?" She shifted a little on the bed. "Last night...you could barely hold yourself together. And the day before you could barely do anything without lingering sadness. What changed?" He blinked. I have a direction, a purpose. If I gave up...I'd be betraying him more than I already did. "I'm trained to look at a situation and get the job done." He said, looking down. I haven't thought this way in a while. "If I treat it like a job, there's no room for sadness. I have a goal, get into U.A. I will complete it and then set another when the time comes" Mitsuki smiled. "That works" She ruffled his hair and his breath hitched, then he looked away. "Oh sorry..." Killua took a few breaths, his monotone expression breaking a little. "N-No it's fine it's just...." Killua felt a tear roll down his cheek. "He always told me how fluffy my hair was, he loved to pet it whenever he got the chance" Killua mumbled. You can do this. m-move on- Killua put a hand to his mouth to keep himself from making a noise. I can't...I can't just forget him. He'll never be completely gone from my mind. He closed his eyes and breathed for a few seconds, Mitsuki stayed silent and didn't move. He removed his hand and put the other along with the first behind his head. "Alright, let's do this"

A week later he had started to get a grip on his quirk. Killua could summon explosions at will now. He could propel himself, attack, burn shit, the works. He also practiced his new personality at all times. He had altered it somewhat to make him seem more like an asshole, he didn't want people to be all friendly with him. Killua, Mitsuki, and Masaru were at the table eating Katsudon when Mitsuki said something. "So, how exactly are you planning on addressing me?" He blinked. Killua looked at her for a few seconds. "Sure as hell won't call you mother" Then he thought for a moment. She said she was in her 40s, but she looks like she's in her 20s. Killua smirked. "What about old hag?" Mitsuki stiffened, then shot him a glare. "Killua-" he held up a hand. "The name's Katsuki Bakugou now, address me like that. Killua doesn't exist anymore aight?" She sighed heavily. "Katsuki, that's not what normal children call their mothers" He snorted. "I know another old hag, works kinda like you. She looks 12 but she's actually 60" Masaru blinked. "Really?" He huffed. "The old hag's got blonde pigtails and a frilly pink dress, would've never believed her if not for the actual proof when she deactivated her quirk" He shivered a little. "Damn she's fucking massive. Her neck's as thick as a tree, looks kinda like Allmight to be honest with that build. She was my old teacher by the way, I do not miss that"

There was silence for a while, and he thought of something. I can't just go around calling people dumbass as much as I want to like this. So, what else do I say? He thought hard on this. Hmm what about...extra. Yeah, he liked that. They don't matter, there not needed. Then...he thought back to Allmight. He's the embodiment of a hero, he's...damn he's kind of like Gon. He'd risk everything to save people, and do it with a smile. They both used brute strength to defeat their foes. I want to be just like Allmight, just like Gon. I want to win, and save people. He felt his eyes spark. That is why I'm alive. Not because I deserve it, or because Gon would be sad. I owe it to him. Mitsuki's right, killing myself is not the answer. If I did that then I'd never get the chance to atone for my mistakes. I have to make it right, make it better. And then, when that's all over...maybe I'll come and see you again.
