╒══════════════════╕ Chapter Seventeen One Bad Thing After Another ╘══════════════════╛
NO MATTER WHERE SHE WAS OR WHAT SHE WAS DOING, she couldn't help but feel like someone was watching her but every time she looked around, she couldn't find anybody looking in her direction. She wondered if she was just paranoid and tried to push the feeling away no matter how much it was bothering her. She tried to focus on what her friends were saying but that feeling in her gut just wouldn't go away. Sweet Pea looked at her and lightly nudged her arm with his elbow but she wouldn't look at him.
"Are you alright?" he asked.
"Do you guys feel like you're being watched?" Tori questioned as she looked around.
Sweet Pea and looked around but couldn't find anybody looking in their direction. Tori sighed as she fidgeted with her fingers, knowing she must've sounded absolutely paranoid and tried to ignore the feeling. Maybe she needed to get more sleep or maybe she needed to slow down on the caffeine.
"Oh, God, you're also having that feeling?" Marissa asked and Tori nodded as she looked at her.
If Marissa was also having that strange feeling, then at least she wasn't alone and it wasn't just in her head. But then what if they were the only ones? And if someone was watching them, who was it?
"If you're feeling it too, at least I know I'm not going crazy," Tori mumbled as she crossed her arms over the table and slouched forward.
Knowing that she wasn't the only one plagued with this uncomfortable feeling only brought a little bit of relief but the feeling still didn't go away so she tried to pretend it wasn't bothering her anymore. She tried not to look over her shoulder every couple of minutes while walking down the hallways but it was hard when the feeling kept eating away at her.
"It's probably Creepy Evelyn. I gotta be honest, this place has felt a little weirder since she showed up. It's like she has eyes everywhere," Sweet Pea said while Marissa nodded.
"She is creepy alright and she does not stop talking about the Farm, whatever the hell that's supposed to mean. I just have this gut feeling about her that I can't shake," she replied.
"Same and something tells me we gotta be careful around her. Growing up, my mom used to tell me that your brain may lie to you and your heart may be blind, but your gut is always right. Of course as a kid I never really understood what she meant when she said that," Tori said while shrugging her shoulders.
