Chapter 12 "Death's Door"

An hour later 

The Witch's Castle

After they realized how they got trapped all around the castle in two different decades and met Chloe, everything clarified for both of them. The story that has been told and realization helped them to continue moving closer to the castle, fighting monsters around, and trying to get on top of one of the castle's buildings. The vampire of the blue moon and Vanitas got on the rooftop, looking around. The snow was falling slower and the snowfall was not as bad as it was before that made area easier to view. Suddenly, they both heard a loud noise from the sky. Vanitas looked up, seeing Jeanne that was jumping on him. She took his coat and threw him on the snowed ground.

- Don't stay on my way, Vanitas, - screamed Jeanne, - Leave it to me. I will kill it.

- Non, - said Vanitas, looking at her angry face, - I will save it.

- Is it what you want? - asked Jeanne, opening her mouth in shock. The vampire of the blue moon was standing next to them and looking over their conversation. 

- Sorry, but I can't let you do that, - screamed Jeanne, squeezing his coat. She jumped with Vanitas in the air, preparing to throw him on the ground. The vampire of the blue moon jumped from the cloud of the blue fire under her boots and jumped to her. She put her hand over Jeanne's and took Vanitas in her other hand, pushing Jeanne away with the pressure of the blue fire. Vanitas' eyes became wider in shock. Jeanne flew away, hitting the wall of the castle tower and falling to the ground. 

- Only after my dead body, Jeanne, - screamed [y/n] taking Vanitas in her arms and jumping on the ground in the yard of the castle, flipping over the ground with Vanitas. They both fall on distant corners of the yard from each other. Vanitas got up, coming to the vampire of the blue moon that was laying on the ground. He took her face in his hands, looking at her bleeding with blood eyes.

- You are a complete idiot, what do you think you are doing, [y/n]? - said Vanitas with an annoyed tone. He wiped the blood from her eyes, - You are always hiding your pain, aren't you? 

The vampire of the blue moon looked at his light blue eyes feeling how heat reached over her body. She slowly got up, looking around and noticing the wolves that surrounded them in the circle.

- I don't have time for a chit chat, - she looked away, looking at one of the castle's towers, - I think you can handle those wolves. I will go search for Noe.

Vanitas rolled his eyes and nodded, taking his knife out of his pocket. She jumped off the ground, getting into the open window of the tower. Quickly running through the hall, she noticed Noe who was laying on the floor. She ran to him, taking his wrist and making him get on his knees.

- Noe, what are you doing at death's door, again? - her voice made him look up in tears. She freezes looking at his crying face.

- [y/n]? - Noe's voice cracked. He got up and touched her cheeks with his hands covered in crimson blood. He kissed her, closing his eyes. Through this kiss, she could feel the pain that he was suffering through with the salty taste of his tears. She placed her hands over his, softly squeezing them. She felt the struggle inside of herself. The disgusting feeling inside of her heart. At the same time, she felt the best calming peace next to Noe, and the worst part of herself that remembers what happened between her and Vanitas a few hours ago. Stopping the kiss, holding all of those emotions inside, she looked at his scared eyes. 

- What happened to you? - she tried to make her voice calm, comforting him. Noe sadly smiled.

- I just saw their memories and now I know, - Noe looked down. Suddenly, he hugged the vampire of the blue moon as tight as he could make her almost losing her breathe from it, but his hug gives her the most warmth and calm feeling, - I missed you. That was not a day that I was thinking about where are you.
