Stepping into my house, I overheard someone talking to my father; curious I dropped my bag on my floor, and tiptoed in the direction of our TV room, as I peeked through the door which was slightly open, I saw three people sitting in front of my parents; a tall man with a mole on his face, and a walking stick in his right hand; on his left was a middle aged woman; and on her side, sat a young man, who wore a navy blue coat and had his hair styled with gel...At first, I couldn't really figure out what they were talking about, until that old man mentioned that, for Faisal to wed your daughter, we need you to pay us with a handsome amount, and that your daughter shall not study after marriage. Hearing that, I felt miserable, yet quietly I picked up my bag and went into my room...
I have never thought of keeping someone in Rafay's place, I cannot get married to Faisal anyway, and also that I had actually never thought of being married so early, I want to become a doctor and then I want to make my parents proud, after all I'm their only child...I knew mom would be here any minute, to tell me whatever they had planned for me, so I slept before my mind could explode of anxiety...
Waking up, as I went into the kitchen to grab a treat, I noticed mom standing there unusually, then she stepped forward and asked me about how was college today, I was a hundred-percent sure that something was fishy and it was, I answered that it was fine, then she finally spoke up, and asked when are my exams, so I told her that they are this month; then what she said traumatized me, she said that she was planning my wedding with Faisal and that after my exams were over she wanted to schedule my wedding just after my exams were over...
Me and my family were invited to a family dinner last week, Rafay was also there. As soon as I entered the room my sight caught him, but he didn't seem to be really interested in me, he was quite busy talking to my aunt about the new products he had just launched in his oil refinery...There we sat on a dinner table overloaded with food of all cuisines, behaving like a good girl , I let the adults take the food first...As I held my plate in my left hand I glanced at all the different foods laid on the table, I decided to put some spaghetti in my plate first....Swirling my spaghetti, I glanced at him but he didn't seem to notice, he seemedmore interested in discussing about his success at his oil refinery and being one of the youngest succesful people our family has ever known...Well maybe, he really isn't interested in love or something; maybe he is just so obedient, that whatever his parents will decide for his life he will accept that; maybe he is already in love; maybe his parents have already decided to whom he must be married to and they haven't revealed about it yet.... As all these thoughts filled up my mind, everyone started staring at me; probably they would be thinking about how I was brought up or I was insane or I was simply an angel transformed into a demon by the motherfucking college!
My grandparents and my parents started questioning me if I was fine, but I just shook my head and tried to eat the spaghetti which had a tank full of barbeque sauce, I guess it was a bad choice to go forthe spaghetti, I wonder if the other dishes are the same - seemingly delicious but taste yuck!
