Kabanata 37

The surrounding freezes and all breaths were tap on hold. I must be dreaming, right?

First, how did he found out where I am living? Second, why does he care?

Napaka wala sa linya ang bisitahin ako ni Papa.

"Mama!"

From my father's fierce eyes, I look at my son who's happily smiling while holding a new toy on his right hand.

Para akong naalarma nang mapag tanto ko kung sino ang may hawak sa anak ko. I quickly move and grab him from my father.

"Ano pong ginagawa niyo rito?" I neutrally said, putting Alexander behind me.

He looks so confuse about my sudden move, but who cares? Mas mabuting makuha ko siya mula kay Papa. Hindi ko alam kung anong balak niyang gawin, o kung ano mang motibo niya sa pag punta dito.

"Mama, may another lolo ako." Rinig kong sabi ni Alex sa likuran ko. The hint of happiness from his voice is so evident. He sounds so overwhelmed and amazed at the same time.

He's feeling something my parents failed to make me feel. Wow.

I look at my father again. Punong puno ng pag tataka ang mga mata kong naka tingin sa kanya.

And he seems to read my expression really well. Dahil hindi nag tagal ay nag salita siya.

"Calla Amorett, anak, I am not here to create an argument."

I felt a dry lump on my throat when I heard him say one particular word. Anak? Since when did he swallowed his pride and decided to call me that?

From me, he look at Alexander who's widely smiling at him. Ang seryosong mukha niya ay tinubuan ng napaka lamyos na ngiti.

What a warm smile.

Mabilis kong hinanap sina nanay Nancy at tatay Berto. The married couple is standing at the kitchen's door frame. Both are confused and surprise.

Mula sa kanila ay hinanap ko si Benjo, na tahimik na nag mamasid sa likuran ko. 

I walk near him and handed Alexander to him. "Pasuyo naman muna kay Alex, Benjo. Tsaka kung pwede sana paalisin mo 'yang mga tao sa labas?" Pakiusap ko sa kanya.

His eyes are telling me than he's confuse, yet he still took Alex from me.

"Parekoy, punta muna tayo sa kusina ha? May kakausapin lang si Mama."

Nakakunot ang noo ng anak kong bumaling sa akin. To encourage him to go, I smiled warmly at him and nod. 

Alexander, then, go will Benjo. But he said something that didn't miss by my ears.

"Ninong handa natin 'yung table ha? Baka dito kumain si second lolo."

I smirk. It is so funny how Alexander got attach to him that easy. Napaka bilis naman ata?

"Oh, magsi uwi na kayo nang maka pag luto na kayo sa mga bahay niyo? Walang teleserye dito sa bahay namin." Nanay Nancy said while shooing the people outside our door, still looking curiously at my father.

"Salamat po," I thanked nay Nancy after she closed our door. "Kakausapin ko lang po, mag papaliwanag ako mamaya."

The old lady tapped my shoulder as her left hand caress my cheek. "Wala kang utang na paliwanag, hija." She glance behind me before looking at me again. "Sige na't kausapin mo siya. Nasa kusina lang kaming lahat."

Pinanuod kong inakay ni tay Berto ang asawa papuntang kusina. When I saw them smiled enthusiastically at Alex, I took a deep breath and face my father.
