Marinette
"Okay girl. Spill." Marinette and Alya decided to meet after school for macaroons and tea- well Alya had. Marinette just nodded because she knew her opinion didn't matter in the situation.

Marinette sighed and filled her in on everything. It felt nice being able to get things off her chest now that she didn't have to hide her identity from Alya anymore.

"Chat Blanc has haunted me for a long time. Chat Noir means so much to me and seeing him like that..." she didn't finish. It hurt too much.

"Okay, I know this isn't the right time," Alya said sitting next to her on her bed. "But what's the scoop between you two? Lately akuma attacks have been on the rise and you two have seemed... close."

Marinette felt her cheeks burn and she looked away. "We're just friends. Besides, you know my heart already belongs to Adrien, and I'm still getting over Luka." Alya put a comforting hand over hers.

"Always remember Marinette, that just because your head thinks your heart belongs to someone doesn't mean that's who you truly want deep down. Listen to your heart, don't feel like you can't love anyone else just because you're obsessed with Adrien. The outcome might surprise you."

Marinette smiled sadly. "Thanks Alya, I'll try to remember that." They sat like that for awhile, the comfortable silence between them made all of Marinettes stresses disappear. Except for-

"Shoot! I totally forgot Adrien said he was coming over later this afternoon!" Alya looked at her with a look of pure disbelief. "You're telling me you're here sitting in silence with me when you could be getting ready to see Adrien, aka, your crush?"

"I guess I was just so wrapped up in my head I haven't really had the time to be nervous around him."

"Wow girl this memory guy really affected you." Alya said sympathetically. "I'm glad we had the chance to talk today, I couldn't stand watching you look so upset."

She hugged her tightly before getting up. "Love you girl! Have fun tonight with your "friend." She winked and disappeared down the stairs.

Marinette twisted her fingers together and glanced at herself in the mirror to make sure she looked okay.

Hours passed, but Adrien never came.

* * *
At around 10:00 pm, just as Marinette was climbing into bed, she heard a knock at her window. She looked up and saw black cat ears poking up from the window frame.

"Chat noir?" Marinette asked, unlocking the window so he could come in. He jumped in, a wide energetic smile not matching his dull eyes. "Hey Marinette. How goes it?"

Usually, she would have raised an eyebrow and questioned his visit, but on that particular night all she could do was wince as she remembered the bright white of his akumatized appearance.

She sat down at her desk chair and clutched her head, closing her eyes tightly. Looking at him brought back too much.

"Marinette?"

She blinked and he was in front of her, holding out a pink rose. He laughed as she cringed at it. "You remember the first time I gave you a pink rose?" She sighed and nodded.

He laughed again. "Your dad sure has a protective side- I mean, it's obvious why you would like me, I would like me too if I were you!" She rolled her eyes as he continued, "but... I cant help wondering..."

Marinettes eyes widened at what he was implying, "Well maybe back then I was a little crazy, and nutbrained, and silly, but things have changed and I have feelings for..." She glanced at one of the many photos she had pasted on her wall. "...someone else."

He looked at her with concern, and sat down next to her. "The guy you like certainly is one lucky guy to have a queen like you. Or... should I say, a Purrincess?"

Usually, she would roll her eyes and scold him for being unprofessional while trying to catch an akuma, but once again, that night was different. She laughed, a real laugh that made her whole body shake. Surprised and happy by her laughter, Chat started to laugh too, until both of them were laying on her pink rug almost to tears.

"M'Princess, I don't think I've ever made anyone laugh so hard with one of my puns." She looked over at him as he grinned, his green eyes closed. A soft smile creeped up her face at his happiness.

"Hey Chat Noir, why did you come over tonight?" He met her eyes, his emerald green meeting her bluebell. It almost put her in as much of a trance as when she looked at-

"Okay I know I shouldn't be telling you this, because I know Ladybug would FREAK if I did," (Marinette mentally slapped him but couldn't do anything but listen as he continued), "but I'm friends with Adrien Agreste in my civilian life, and he asked me to come visit you tonight because he knew you weren't doing well. He wasn't able to come because his old man wouldn't let him out of the house, as usual." She could have sworn his eyes lost a little bit of light as he said that, but she just brushed it off as he continued.

"He probably thought I would come in my civilian form since that's how we know each other but... I figured this would be a little less awkward." He smiled his goofy smile, and she couldn't be mad at him for telling her.

"Well Chat," she said, pulling him into a hug, "thank you for coming."

He hugged her back and whispered, "Anytime My Princess, anytime."
