I didn't even notice Hunter's presence until he spoke. "Hey, what are you doing?"
Apparently, I was so shocked that I dropped my pen. In doing so, I had my hand over my heart to calm my state of mind.
"You shocked me," I breathlessly said.
"Yeah, about that," he placed a hand behind his neck, showing his nervousness. "I didn't mean to frighten you or anything. I'm sorry."
By then, my wild heart had ceased it's erratic behaviour. "It's okay. I get frightened easily," I explained despite my reluctance in telling him about one of my weaknessess.
He simply nodded in understanding.
"Oh! I meant to ask you, where are Mr and Mrs Lovegood anyway?"
"Well, they have been tending to this store for years now. Mr Lovegood thought that it was a good idea to retire. Plus, Mrs Lovegood always wanted to re-visit Paris since that was where they first met," Hunter said. "And that's why I'm here. Well, temporarily of course. I'll have to search for a new staff soon."
Now this is new. I didn't know that the Lovegoods met in Paris. And why did I not know of them retiring? It's like a bomb; unexpected.
"Oh! They'll be coming over later so you can ask them questions which are currently fleeting through your mind," Hunter said with a knowing look.
I nodded sheepishly and realised that he said that he needed a hand in this store. "Is the job offer still up? I'd like to help out since this is practically my second home."
Hunter simply blinked, thoughts rushing through his mind. Confusion, surprise and lastly, relief. "Really? You want to? I mean the spot is yours. But, really," Hunter asked excitedly.
I nodded vigorously.
And just like that, I got a job. A job that I love so that's a plus point.
"So, what am I supposed to do?" I asked, already excited at the prospect of working here and being surrounded by books.
"Hmmm. Why don't you start by unloading the boxes at the back?" Hunter pointed to a huge stack of boxes.
Alright, scratch that. This isn't as fun as I thought it would be. But, I get to read books so bring it on!
I rolled up the sleeves of my white cardigan and started on the first box. I placed book atop book to make them into a pile and repeated the process to make more piles. I didn't know how long I have been working on the boxes as I finally unloaded the last one.
"Phew! That was such a tedious task," I said. "Hunter, do I need to place the--" I didn't need to finish my sentence as I saw most of the books gone. Hunter had a pile of books in his arms and was arranging them to their respectful places.
Once Hunter was done, he said, "Oh. I didn't want you to start arranging once you've finished unloading 'cause that would be really unfair and you looked like you were about to collapse. And, I had nothing much to do so I helped out." He winked at me.
Ohh. That was really sweet of him.
"Well, thanks for that," I said the same time as my stomach grumbled.
Urgh. I need food.
Hunter must have heard that as he said, "Ah, the lady is hungry. Is pizza alright with you?"
I replied with an enthusiastic yes. I mean, come on! Pizza is the bomb. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water.
Hunter laughed and said jokingly, "I'd better call the pizza delivery man now or you'll end up forming a river with your drool."
My face heated up instantly. "Hey! I'm not drooling." I pouted and checked my mouth just in case.
And so, pizza was ordered and delivered. No words were exchanged when the mother of all food was placed on the table. I attacked the pepperoni pizza and took a slice of it. At that moment, I didn't care if I looked like a cave woman because I'm hungry and I feel comfortable around Hunter.
Speaking of said person, he laughed at my reaction and said, "You have something on your mouth."
I felt around my mouth and didn't find anything except probably making it worse. What happened next shocked me. Hunter leaned forward and used his thumb to remove whatever was on my mouth. His thumb was still on my mouth and I could see him gulp. I looked at his luscious red lips and gulped myself. This is a very cliche moment but we were leaning into each other and I could feel his breath fanning across my cheeks. That was how close we were.
But our moment was short-lived as the next thing we knew, the bell signalled a customer. Hunter cleared his throat. I was flustered myself and was speechless.
The customer or should I say customers were actually Mr and Mrs Lovegood.

A/N: Did you manage to spot a song title? *hinthint* It's from a band called The Vamps.
And Hina almost kissed! That would have been an epic moment! Will they kiss in the future chapters? Probably, probably not.
