Nandos was really, like a ghost town. The only person that was there, besides me, was a cashier and I don't think he was even conscious. I sat down at a table an smoothed out my purple, frilly dress as I waited for Joe. After pulling out my phone two or three times to check the clock, he showed up. He dressed like he was going on a date, but he still looked comfortable. As Joe walked over I suddenly felt a weight on my shoulders. Of course, he was followed by Caspar and Michelle.
"Hey." Joe said sitting down.
"Hello." I smiled.
"I couldn't get Michelle off of me. She dragged Caspar here." He whispered.
I nodded and didn't think of looking at them.
"Probably just to rub her mouth on him and stick it in my face at the same time." I whispered.
"What was that?" Joe asked confused.
I didn't realize I had said that out loud.
"Oh...um...nothing. Just nervous." I responded.
"Oh of course. Nervous." He repeated.
The silence after that continued for the rest of the time we were there. When Joe offered to walk me home, I could refuse.
"Just, out of curiosity, what did you do before moving here?" He asked looking at me with eyes that wanted to know everything he was asking me.
"I was at college. Then I worked at a Lush shop in Dublin. What about you? Before the YouTube stuff?"
"I made roofs out of straw."
The sentence was so simple. I knew the name and I smiled and looked at him.
"What?" He asked smiling back.
"I just got the context of your channel name." I laughed.
He laughed with me and we continued to answer each other's questions. We walked about four miles before we realized we had been going in the wrong direction.
Joe was the most amazing person I have ever met. And to think, I had been going after Cas...wait! I can't really like Joe. Can I? Zoe's brother. I like my best friend's brother...This isn't good.
