TW: Mentions of past abuse (mild) in this chapter. Jimin's ex is an asshole.
Jimin woke up with a smile on his lips. It seemed to be a normal thing he did these days. How could he help himself from falling when Jungkook made him so happy?
He had heard his mom telling him a relationship was a two-way road. Be it a romantic relationship or a simple friendship, love and caring for each other should go both ways. But Jimin had been taken advantage of his kindness way too much. So, it was a nice change to actually experience that two-way journey with someone. Even if it wasn't romantic. It was a nice feeling to be on the receiving end of that attention for once.
It was Wednesday. Jungkook filled his thoughts and he smiled again. After last weekend, he spent at least an hour gaming together before going to sleep and it was fun. Jimin found he wasn't that bad at games once he learned the basics and got a hang of everything.
Jungkook was patient as ever and as he promised, they were creating new memories. Now Jimin had a few games downloaded to his phone, which he played when he wanted to unwind in the café or during the break.
Yes, he was taking short breaks from work in between and Hannah was already pulling his legs good-naturedly. He was changing from his overworking habits and he was changing for good.
His mother was happy to see him smiling widely these days. She'd noticed the change too and so was Yoongi. Jimin ruffled his hair and stretched his limbs.
Jungkook suggested they could go back to the sports bar again this weekend. However, this week Jungkook's brother was visiting. He would arrive on Friday night and would leave on Sunday night. He jumped off the bed and headed to the bathroom.
Jimin was so excited because his younger brother was going to meet Junghyun at Busan train station to give him some homemade kimchi and other things his mom prepared for him. Oh, how long had it been since he went home?
Last month, Jungkook introduced him to his mother and Jimin introduced Jungkook to his mother. Somehow that led to their mothers reaching out to each other and the next thing Jimin knew their mothers were talking to each other on a daily basis and were now close. Though Jimin's family lived far from Jungkook's, they met once already. Jungkook's family lived closer to the ocean while his family lived closer to the mountains.
He made a note to bake some pastries and cupcakes beforehand so Hannah could manage the café this weekend. Jimin didn't plan to take the full day off, but he wanted to leave a bit early in case they decided to visit someplace. He'd spoken to Junghyun twice and the man was as sweet as Jungkook.
When he came out of the shower, Jungkook was already up and was working out. This was the last month of his internship and they were busy with some important project to present to an American company, which was announced this week. Jungkook's team had three weeks to submit the project and he'd been working longer hours than usual. They both ended up relying on Jimin's stack of ramen for three days this week.
