(Holy shit. THANK YOU GUYS FOR 1K READS!! AND I'M SO SORRY I'VE BEEN GONE SO LONG! School has definitely kept me busy. But anyways, I hope you guys like this chapter and I love you all, my children! <3)
This night had been... eventful, to say the least.
Sanemi's friends were leading the small group as they walked down the path and towards the common area. The tallest one and the bright haired one were bickering over something stupid, which they seemed to do a lot. Sanemi was trailing behind them, keeping pace with Giyuu.
For some reason unknown to Giyuu, the taller of the pair lifted Bright Hair off the ground and slung him over his shoulder. Bright Hair started kicking and yelling, his face flushed as red as the tips of his hair. Giyuu raised an eyebrow and looked over to Sanemi, who watched with a sort of amused, squinty-eyed expression. He shook his head and turned his attention to the man next to him. Giyuu gave him a small smile. Sanemi cleared his throat and looked ahead, pink dusting his cheeks and ears.
They continued on their short walk until they had reached the aforementioned common area. A short, ebony-haired man with a white mask covering the bottom half of his stood there, half engaged in conversation with a kid who looked to be about Tanjiro's age. His hair was long and greenish-blue at the tips. Neither of them seemed to be very interested in their conversation. The younger one stared into space, looking at nothing in particular, and the slightly taller one fixed random passerby with dirty looks.
Sanemi appeared to know him. He grabbed Giyuu's arm and led him towards him. The man took notice of them and looked halfway grateful for an excuse to leave his awkward conversation.
"Obanai, hey."
Obanai simply nodded his greeting. His two-color eyes landed on Giyuu, narrowed slightly, then drifted back to Sanemi.
"Is this the guy from a couple days ago?" Obanai tilted his head in Giyuu's direction, eyes still critical. Sanemi nodded and explained the events of this evening and the one previous. The other pair had wormed their way in at some point and added in their own views here and there.
Obanai nodded his head again. His expression had shifted from the sour glare he wore before to more of a mildly curious, yet mostly uninterested scowl. He kept looking back and forth between Giyuu and Sanemi like there was some conclusion they hadn't yet reached. Of course, he noticed the fact that Sanemi hadn't let go of Giyuu's arm and Giyuu appeared to be a little... flustered by it.
He shrugged to himself and turned to watch the show Tengen and Kyojuro were putting on. Kyojuro was making a very sad attempt at giving Tengen a piggyback ride as Tengen usually gave to him, but given that Tengen was so much taller and weighed so much more, it looked more like he was being put in a chokehold. He stumbled around, Tengen on his back cackling, and eventually toppled headfirst into the ground. Tengen was thrown off by Kyojuro's momentum and hit the ground hard. Kyojuro had since sat up, but nearly fell over again from laughing. Giyuu snickered into his palm and Obanai looked down at the pair with distaste. He backed up some and muttered something along the lines of "Damn, go do your closet couple thing somewhere else," Both Tengen and Kyojuro stopped short. Kyojuro's face reddened near instantly, while Tengen's blush spread from his bedazzled ears to his face. They shouted "NO!" at the exact same time. Obanai smirked under the mask as they launched into a flurry of reasons why they weren't a couple. About how Tengen was an alpha (true), Kyojuro was a beta (True..??), Tengen didn't like commitment (true), and Kyojuro just wasn't interested (in Sanemi's opinion, a lie.)
Suddenly, Sanemi led Giyuu by the arm away from the obnoxious group and up a hill not too far away. Once they had made it up, Sanemi let go of his arm in a hurry, noticing that he'd been holding it for the past 15 minutes. He sat down and patted the ground next to him, signaling for Giyuu to sit down next to him. There was a minute-long awkward silence before Giyuu spoke up,
"Your friends are really fun." Sanemi glanced at his face. He was staring up, blue eyes more full of life than he'd seen in the past two days. He usually looked so dull, like he was never feeling anything.
"I..I'm glad you had fun."
"Yeah," Giyuu replied, a small smile setting itself on his features. Damn, he was pretty.
They sat there in a less-awkward silence for what seemed like forever, until Giyuu's phone went off.
"Oh, it's already that late? I better get going, Shinobu's wondering where I am," Giyuu stood, that starry-eyed expression dulling ever so slightly. Sanemi hesitated for a moment, then asked,
"Can I walk you home?"
Giyuu's eyes widened and he looked down at Sanemi, who was still sitting on the ground. He nodded, pretty smile coming back full force with a little puff of sweet pheromones.
They had been walking for close to half an hour now, making small talk and telling each other about their dumb memories. Sanemi had shown Giyuu a video of Obanai baby-talking to his snake, Kaburamaru, and then showed him the scar he'd gotten from the encounter.
Then they walked most of the rest of the way in possibly the most comfortable silence they could've. That is, until Sanemi broke that silence with one of the many questions Giyuu absolutely hated answering.
"Hey... you're really thin. Are you eating okay?"
Giyuu's pace slowed considerably. His brow had furrowed slightly, his lips pressed tight. He exhaled slowly and asked,
"Is it that noticeable?"
"Wait, so you aren't?"
Giyuu chose not to reply. He looked anywhere but directly at Sanemi, not wanting to see the kind of face he wore. He heard a sigh from his direction. Slowly, a phone came into view. Sanemi was... holding it out to him?
"Here, give me your number. I don't wanna be a fucking creep and have to come to your house everyday to make sure you eat." Giyuu looked up, surprised. Sanemi's face was stern, maybe, but not pissed. Giyuu took the phone, typed his phone number in quickly, and handed it back. Sanemi stared at his phone for a moment, then stared at Giyuu.
"You should head inside. Don't worry me, okay?" Giyuu nodded slowly and waved as Sanemi walked away. He turned and walked up the stairs that led to the dorm he shared with Shinobu and Mitsuri. When he walked in, Shinobu was sitting on the couch, watching her shitty romance shows. Mitsuri was apparently still out. Giyuu sank down next to Shinobu, who looked at him expectantly.
"So? Did anything interesting happen?"
"I gave him my number."
Shinobu made a display of covering her hand with her mouth and gasping. Giyuu rolled his eyes at her and she giggled back at him.
"Why?"
"He said it's to make sure I eat."
Shinobu went uncharacteristically silent. Giyuu looked to see that she had that sort of happy, sort of sad smile on her face. It disappeared after a few seconds, replaced by her sly smile that meant she was up to something. She hummed to herself and turned back to the TV. Giyuu rested his head on the arm of the couch and fell asleep. Shinobu got up once he fell asleep and laid a blanket down over him.
"That guy's a keeper, hm, Giyuu?" she smirked to herself and went to go find Mitsuri.
(I feel like I make these chapters really short and it kinda bothers me but I'll be honest my creativity runs out at around 800 words ;-; anyways i hope you enjoyed and ILY ❤❤❤ Have an amazing day!)
