..I can't sleep..

The gas station always has been a dump. There's always something going on and yet it's still a so very boring.

If you work in this hell hole you deal with so much yet so little.

1. Clean the toilets
2. Stalk up the snacks and drinks
3. Chase the homeless man that lives in the dumpster out back away
4. Stand at the counter for 12 hours
5. DONT FALL ASLEEP ON THE JOB.

Yes, a lovely list of tasks for every employee.

Every: Me

You see, nobody wants the night shift so I'm completely and totally alone every night.

We have the occasional trucker, run away teenagers, even some drug dealers come through.

Those are the only three categories that I have for people that pass by.
This gas station is in the middle of nowhere. It's located a ways out from some small town that has a population of 32.

Hardly anyone ever comes through here and actually stops at the station.
This is the reason that I have those three categories.

Nobody ever comes in here without fitting into one of them. I honestly feel as if nobody ever will.

*ding ding ding*

Here we go again.

"Good evening. Let me know if you need something." I slowly lift my eyes towards the door, setting down the Bic lighter that I was playing with.

There stood a group of three teens.
"Uh...where's the bathroom..?" The kid that spoke looked around 17, he was gripping onto his skateboard for dear life.

"In the back. You need the keys, here." I tossed practically threw it at him.

"Thanks."

While he headed to the restroom other two walked around the isles.

Around 10 minutes passed before they came to check out.

They sat a assortment of snacks and drinks on the counter along with one single pack of batteries.

I started to ring up the items. "Will that be all?"

"Yes, thank you." They scooped the contents of the counter into a black backpack before heading out the door.

So bored.
